How ridiculous is this statement? The Beatles introduced the world to soul! Now that is racist.

Almost as ridiculous as suggesting The Beatles had no soul.

Now who would say something that ridiculous?

Me. Next you'll be telling me that Oasis have soul, which they inherited from the Beatles and Slade.

you`ve got to love the way that some posters (and yes i get some are tongue in cheek while others aren`t) state FACT after their OPINION (as if it makes a flying farts difference) to consolidate it in their own mind that it is true !!! Lets face it what is one man`s nectar is the next man`s poison, and that`s what makes this wonderful world so much fun

Listen, I'm no big fan of theirs, but you'll be doing well to explain this...

I think you'll find that putting FACT after something definitely makes it more credible, particularly on Tickles posts(has to be in capitals mind, otherwise it could be doubted).

    Based on your backtracking argument...

    Yes, to me, they do.

No, not at all. Based on my musical heritage argument. They took music down a soulless route, that's still heard in **** bands today.

The list of musical innovations prove beyond dispute that the Beatles took music forward regardless of what your dad says oh and by the way stop trying to backtrack, you made yourself look a right **** earlier

Is that the same musical heritage argument that suggested rock n roll didn't have black origins?

You just suggested that soul is a feeling, so how can an artist make something soulless when soul is, as you suggest, down to the listener's opinions?

    Your own argument contradicts itself.

Admittedly I was kinda looking for a rise on that one, but the basis of my point stands.

The Beatles introduced a lot of us to Tamla Motown

Then there were versions of Arthur Alexander (Anna), Chuck Berry (Roll Over, Beethoven), Goffin and King (Chains), Bacharach and David (Baby, It's You).

Hardly anyone was aware of the music that bit them in the first place. They did covers and then they wrote songs.

    And then they didn't.

I said that it is down to opinion and mine is that music needs have black influences to have soul, which I believe that 'overall' their sound lacks. If I'm alone on that, so be it.

The Beatles clearly have black influences, as has been proved to you various times throughout the thread. If you want to ignore it, then so be it, continue to be an ignorant prat who can't accept he's wrong.

    You certainly are alone.

All you've done is some posturing and waited for people to come up with arguments for you. At least I can hold my own.
