I don`t think he is mate really. The U.S. plan to station tanks and heavy weapons in NATO member states on Russia's border. He has to respond that`s all.
It's the old, he's done something we've got to do something being played both sides of the border. That's how wars start. He's made gas and oil deals with the Chinese and signed new accords with them so he doesn't have to worry about them too much at the minute. So now he can focus on seeing what he can get out of Europe, see if he can get back his buffer zone between them and us.

The yanks are already moving hardware in though. No way would any of those 3 back up Russia. They might try a few things while we're distracted but they all know that if Russia went up against a united NATO, they'd lose, and lose heavy, and they won't want to side with someone they know is going to lose beforehand.

You can be a scientific as you like, but no-one has yet explained to me why the notion of a God is more absurd than the Big Bang theory, in which all the matter we observe today was in the same place at the same time, for some reason. They got their butts kicked in Vietnam alright. Korea was actually the UN against China, that ended up a draw after extra-time. Somalia was a bush-fight, but the Islamists are getting their butts kicked now and have lost ground. Just as an example of how times have changed is to compare aircraft carriers. The Yanks have 20, the French 4 and we've got 1. The Russians have 1. (China has 1) The yanks Fifth Fleet in the Persian Gulf, has 2 carriers and over 100 attack aircraft. If the gloves come off in Europe, they have enough to keep Iran quiet on their own, never mind the Saudis and Israel joining in.
