Now you've lost me as well, you do know that white people can(and do) win MOBO's? And the actual reason there's no MOWO Awards, is that too many people thought it would be considered racist.
Not a band as such but I don't "get" the hype surrounding Radio 1 presenter, Nick Grimshaw (and now new X Factor judge). People within the industry seem to rate him as the next big thing (took over Moyles on Radio 1 Breakfast, now on X Factor and being molded to take over Sir Terry Wogan for Children in Need) yet the public perception of him is so poor.
That was 1951, there's earlier records than that, this is a very famous rock and roll record from 1946...
Or even earlier, this was the first song that the term 'Rock and Roll' was applied to by a mainstream source. Another one, this time 1949.
You can go really far back, depending on what you think constitutes rock and roll, this is from 1929...
Yeah, it is a tricky one, especially seeing as the biggest prick of them all - Axl Rose - had his hair down! When Appetite For Destruction came out in 88(?) it was great and I loved it, but it didn't take long for them to become a parody of themselves and the genre.
I want to respond but I need to know what you mean by "soulless" first. I think I probably know, and it's something I take issue with, but I want to be sure first.
