Well after Gomez and JBG, if we sell Cousins on top of that we might have the money. But his versatility really is a benefit and could cover any ositin in the team including Hendo (who will be sold shortly after).
Football League 72 website just reported that Gomez has agreed terms with Liverpool today. Quote from Meire to Bromley Addicks in March "We will not sell any of our first team this summer"
Jesus - can't even blame predictive text for that as I was on the laptop. I'm going to say... Ujpest. They're my new favourite network team. If your best player is Nego and you sell him, you'll never really be that upset. Or ujpest.
Cawley now saying its in the region of 5-6million down. Should that be the case then that seems fair. As long as it goes back in to the team.

We will have to wait and see. It was only 3 hours earlier Cawley told nick he had no direct line to the head people at CAFC (something he's mebtioned before, and since the new regime has stepped in). Now he says that fee was from Liverpool and it's nearer 5-6 mil. Take it with it's a pinch of salt until it's made official. And as an undisclosed
He got 7777 retweets for that?! Maybe Kimmy K will see it and wonder what a Joe Gomez is and gazump Liverpool.
It pains me to say this: I'm going to take a year off from actively supporting Charlton. I think I'll spend more time watching football across Europe and the lower leagues. I did write and explain my thoughts and feelings to the hierarchy, but the response was derisory. I'm sure Roland will survive without my measly 1.5K per season.
Good luck, Ponders, the club should respect it's loyal followers. Clearly this has not happened in the case of you and your family. I would say you have your priorities right, but I do hope the club does something to win back your support next year.
Richard Murray said that one of the benefits of having Duchatelet as our owner was that he was a seriously rich man, and we would no longer have to sell our best players to survive. Fact. Katrien Meire told Bromley Addicks in March that no first team players would be sold this summer. Once again you have to conclude that the leaders at the Club are being economical with the truth. The reaction on Charlton Twitter last night towards the Gomez Giveaway was certainly virulent (I put on 12 new followers yesterday ). The bottom line is that real fans will vote with their feet next season. What is the point in taking pride in seeing the likes of Poyet, Gomez and Morgan Fox coming through (ok....maybe not the last one...), when you just know the sweaty Belgian is standing in the background with his abacus?
Cheers, FHB. To be honest, I don't think the club really cares about my loyalty and support. After 30 years of following Charlton, I don't think I've ever felt so disillusioned and estranged, and yet I'm not exactly heartbroken by the decision to break away. Last year I was spending a fortune travelling back from Europe to watch us against the likes of Rotherham, Sheff Weds et al, but this year I won't bother. If I'm in Rouen, I'll watch Rouen. If I'm in Suffolk, I'll watch Lowestoft. If I'm in London, I'll watch Enfield or Thamesmead. The small clubs will welcome my cash, and I'll not regret handing it over. The kids are a little saddened by the decision not to renew, but their enthusiasm has been steadily decreasing over the last couple of years, so I'm sure the experience of visiting new clubs will fill the void. It's 20 years since Curbs took sole charge of the team. It feels like 120.
Ponders, Dick Plumb will be deeply saddened by your decision, not least because he likes to be the Charlton fan who quits first each season
i dont think i could quit. i'd have too little to do with all that free time. as much as i'm pissed off with how they're running our club, i'll still go and watch. I just wont buy the shirt, food or programmes any more. i've stopped VG too.
Dick has made more comebacks than a veteran boomerang. Very welcome back he is too, given his knowledge of our Academy products will be invaluable when we speculate on whom Roland will flog off next.
