Indeed, the drum intro is from "Rock'n'Roll High School", but then the bands listed in my earlier post are often categorised as Ramonescore bands because they pride themselves on wearing their influence on their sleeves. As for Green Day, it's a matter of personal choice. I can't tell you that you should hear what I hear. But all the bands listed are contemporaries of GD or started before them and there is no doubt GD aspired to be like them - not the other way round. They all write a lot more catchy songs than GD. We all know a catchy song when we hear it - and these bands wipe the floor with GD even if they'll never be championed by MTV.
Maybe I find them that way because they don't have their origins in black music. I would definitely have been a Stone's man.
That's bollocks though. It's an opinion based on your opinion of PW rather than the music he produces. PWs music over the last 30 years couldn't be further from "reissuing the same song sporadically" Your posts on this thread come across as a cry for attention & a wanting to be involved, unfortunately the content merely highlight your narrow mindedness & ignorance on the subject being discussed. A little like labouring boring points like "his name wasn't Da Vinci" or "AC could refer to any Italian club" Your're one of the short sighted ****s that piss me off when declaring their opinion on music, people, like you, are too happy to criticise when they haven't really listened. Have a try at offering a little more to the debate than "they're **** FACT" & you'll come across as a little less of a bore.
Damn straight. Weller's most recent album is absolutely nothing like what he was producing 30 years ago.
Yep. Vile. I have a basic rule of thumb when it comes to rock bands: hair up in the air = ****; hair down = fine.
If you say so. Maybe you should read up on the history of American music. To give it a modern reference point, I love Techno but am not generally into the Minimal variety.
