... of the best youngsters we've had at this club in the past decade leave under RD's watch:

    Poyet
    Gomez

Yet we're told the academy was going to be the foundation of our success. This reported deal will see us get a down payment of £3-£3.5million. That's only double of the rubbish £1.7million we got for Shelvey.

The difference? We were then languishing in League One and were more than broke. It stinks.

How typical but laughable to see perennial Useful Idiots like Ben Hayes defending the Gomez sale on CL.

    Lord Haw Haw lives.

Anybody investing in Valley Gold should cancel their subscriptions if Gomez is flogged off.

Going to have to agree. We can boast about Morgan Fox and The Harriots all we want, but Poyet and Gomez would put bums on seats and improve us as a team.

Let's hope Ujpest have the Hungarian equivalents ready for us.

Anyone with an IQ above 10 can see that Fox is sub standard and won't make the grade at this level. Lets face it though, if Millwall offered 50k for him, RD would bite their hands off.

I have argued from Day One under RD that real Charlton fans - not idiots on a keyboard from afar, but those who actually stump up to go home and away, need to feel an affinity with the blokes out there in the red shirts.....that link has been well and truly severed under this crew.

I haven't renewed for this exact reason- i wanted to see if we brought in some decent players, kept JBG and Gomez
Decent- and i don't mean the likes of Buxton and Bauer
I genuinely feel pissed right off with Gomez going for 3m- absolute peanuts- 350 quid is a lot of money and effort to go

    Sort it out!

I now wish I waited before renewing. I still think we will manage to bring some half decent players in, but we need to keep players like Gomez so we have someone to identify with. As impressive as Solly has been, he has never had the same air as Parker, Shelvey, Poyet or Gomez. All sold before their time IMO with Parker being the only one to get us a decent fee.

Useful Idiot and Stooge of the Decade Rich Cawley reporting that Gomez deal will be done by the end of the week.

"It is a lot more than 3m with add ons" says Rich,

.....fresh off the phone from being briefed by Katrien Meire.

I'm a Cawley fan to be fair. Never understand the hate he gets on CL.

No wait, I do. Some refuse to believe outsiders have more inside knowledge from time to time <ok>

Just had some good banter with Rich Cawley on Twitter.

Fair play to him for biting back <laugh>

    Well then, that's annoying.... #DoucebagOut

We've lost our affinity with those playing. The only players I can honestly say I'm happy are there is Solly, Henderson, Jackson and Cousins. I think people are unfair to Fox. I think he will improve massively next season and be good for us. It was his first season, and has been better than Wiggins this year.

I feel sorry for Fox, as I truly believe if there ever were a zombie apocalypse, he'd be the first to go.

Archie Edwards is already better than Fox, and will replace him for a few games next season before being sold for a fiver to the first name drawn out of a hat, whereupon Fox will come back into the team.

He's just been released by Kilmarnock. Scored 1 goal in 14 games I think!

1 in 14 - we would be stupid NOT to sign him. The network are probably licking their lips at the possibility of selling JBG and making him his replacement.

Yes, but can we match Kilmarnock's wages?
