I agree but to be fair, that's not exactly an achievement considering the lack of goals we have scored from outside the box in previous years gone by. I still think we could have scored more. In some games, we look like playing a pass too many or try and be too fancy with the ball. Yup I spoke about Sanchez, but I mean other players could take their opportunities to shoot on sight a little more frequently. We have the players capable of it, so there's no reason why we shouldn't do it more than we have done. I'm not saying we don't do it or that we haven't improved, but we should do it more in my view.
Well if we haven't scored many goals from outside the box in the past and now we have then surely that is an improvement. Even the invincibles were accused of not scoring as many goals as the chances they created warranted and were accused of wanting to walk the ball into the net. My opinion has always been that you can't criticise a team for creating chances, even if they don't always score from them. You have to be able to be able create in the first place to make the opportunity.
Two unreal goals from Wilshere yesterday, he has does not score many, but his recent goals have all been crackers, never understood the people who question his talent, yes you can clearly question his attutide and his antics off the pitch, but the guy has tons of talent. His biggest problem as we all know is injuries, if he can somehow stay fit and sorts some of the problems he has off the pitch, there is no doubt that we potentially have a top player in Wilshere.
Cazorla will surely be looking nervously over his shoulder. On other news, glad we got rid of Song, i mean, light up shoes! http://metro.co.uk/2015/06/14/barce...tagram-picture-of-his-light-up-shoes-5245362/
What a twat. Song is an intersting case because if this guy had the right mindset to go with his skill and physical attributes, he could been our DM for years, he actually did well for a little bit when he was doing what he was told to do by Wenger. But he clearly got ideas above his station and thought he was the second coming of Zidane when he started to charge up the pitch and tried to become our number ten when he was meant to be our DM, was not suprised when Wenger sold him when Barca came in. Guy is a moron.
He did have very good attributes but alas, when you don't have the right brain to go with the body, it doesn't quite work out. Balotelli being a prime example of that.
Song did provide one of my favourite assists against Dortmund once though so will always appreciate that! Sad really because he showed in for about 15 months how useful he could be.
Okay I don't entirely agree. First of all, there's no point creating all these chances if you can't score from them. Defeats the purpose of playing football. By this logic Danny Welbeck should be exempt from criticism because he can create his own chances with his speed and acceleration but can't put any of his chances away. I also assume you didn't criticise the team for the games against Swansea and Sunderland where we created an abundance of chances to score but didn't take any of them.
Point being that you have to create the chances in the first place in order to score from some of them.
Its all when and good creating chances but against top opposition, you need players to be clinical in front of goal, as sometimes you can only create 1 or 2 chances.
I agree about being clinical, especially against the big teams. I just think Arsenal get knocked unnecessarily for not scoring every chance, when they probably create more than most teams in the league. Of course I'd love to see us stick away every chance we create, but I think the general level of our creative attacking is very good and more often than not we find a way to unlock most defences.
Arsenal reject Chelsea transfer plan to swap Petr Cech for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Man he's trying it....
