    Pink Floyd. Boring.

The Who. Good music, but a lead singer who ruins it by "singing" the same out-of-tune note repeatedly.

If you're referring to 'Pet Sounds', which you must be otherwise your argument is just ridiculous, that album was a bit late, as Revolver and Rubber Soul preceded it.

John Squire and Johnny Greenwood anarl.

A lot of Johns seem to be good guitarists.

Written by the, according to some, less talented Beatle, who also wrote those bland ballads Oh! Darling and Helter Skelter.

So did I. From the moment when my dad turned round and said that there was no way a son of his was going to look like one of those louts when he saw them on TV for the first time on the Arthur Haynes show. The sme mistake a lot of parents made. If they had said they looked great and wanted you to grow your hair like that Brian Jones lad it would have saved years of arguments in families and schools about the length of hair as you would have had short hair. That was what music was about then, music and lifestyles your parents didn't like. That was the whole point. Same when Elvis appeared. Now there are no boundaries to push against and that means that strangely everything is more bland and less exciting.

They're not exactly gifted musicians, but I went to Live 8 in Scotland and they opened the show, they were brilliant.

Not me, Cas. I accept that Macca is a brilliant songwriter. He just doesn't turn me on. He's somewhat flaccid, in my opinion.

    Means we're not related.

Sorry to hear about the mittens.

No wonder you joined the army.
