If they had said they looked great and wanted you to grow your hair like that Brian Jones lad it would have saved years of arguments in families and schools about the length of hair as you would have had short hair. That was what music was about then, music and lifestyles your parents didn't like. That was the whole point. Same when Elvis appeared. Now there are no boundaries to push against and that means that strangely everything is more bland and less exciting.
They're not exactly gifted musicians, but I went to Live 8 in Scotland and they opened the show, they were brilliant.
