Barton has been refused a visa to play in Newcastle's pre-season tour in America, due to his assault conviction, he's now joining the reserve tour of the Netherlands. The irony is, he's just got back from a two week holiday in LA.
Yeah i follow him on twitter and thought that how is this the case? Is it just different states having different rules?
I have been to America numerous times on holiday, near on double figures in fact and we have always had to fill out the green visa form before entry in to the country?
The UK is a VISA exempt country for entering the USA for less than 90 days. You just need an ESTA form to approve your entry into the country now
An immigration form is not the same as a visa, if you are going on holiday to America you don't need a visa(You just need to fill in an online ESTA form) unless you're staying more than three months, in which case you need an American Tourist Visa. But to work in America, including playing football, you need a full visa.
ahhh cheers. I was just slightly confused as i had deffo filled in some form for entry as its something to pass time on the flight when youve watched all the films and the battery has ran out on my mac from playing too much football manager.
Easier than getting a Visa for Kazakhstan, I had travel from bloody Cumbria to London and back in a day just for a face to face interview and get the stamped visa form.
For future reference, if you go to a visa arranging company, they often know the palms to grease to get these things done immediately without you having to do anything at all, particularly for places like Kazakhstan. It costs a few quid, but then I doubt flying to London and back in a day was all that cheap(most countries don't give a **** who's going, they just want the revenue generated by the visa's).
Barton: US ban is hypocrisy Joey Barton has said that his ban from entering the US is a hypocrisy, stating on twitter: "Totally a hypocrisy considering what they get up to but rules are rules"
Diffent states have different rules regardless of your reason for entry. Maybe the immigration did not like his hair cut ? But i am not surprised Barton was refused entry just more surprised he got into another state for a holiday.
The rules for entry to the USA are the same at every point of entry, it's a federal issue, different states have no rules of their own.
