There's a lot of talk about us selling paulinio. ..and i have a feeling that we may well regret letting him go and found this compilation of him which shows how under valued he is.
Only if he's lining up next to Chirches. I've seen one site say part of the reason he looked so good on paper was because box-to-box midfielders are pretty rare in Brazil so they flourish - but in the Premier League they're common, so defenders know how to deal with their late runs into the box.
I think some people forget how good Paulinho was when he first arrived here. He had some very impressive games and scored important goals. You don't just turn crap all of a sudden, his confidence is clearly shot. Wishful thinking probably, but I'd love to see him somehow really contribute to next season, and shut up his doubters.
Capoue was great in his first few games for us - then he really, really wasn't great for the rest of them.
It seems that Paulinho is certainly not a great player; but, IMO, not a bad one either. He was just a cog in a very ordinary, even poor, Brazilian side; who I seem to recall were comprehensively thrashed by Germany at the last W.C. In retrospect, maybe we expected to much?
2 items on Sky Transfer Centre this morning. We are certain to sign Giannelli Imbula - not heard of him and Juve are in talks to sign Lamela ! Silly season well and truly alive and kicking
There is a tendency to think that 'Brazilian' means great footballer when in fact, as we know, it just means a shave close to the mark.
Juve sign Sami Khedeira on a free transfer, which in theory puts a certain amount of kibosh on the "Bentaleb to Juve" rumours - but that's no reason not to sort his effing contract out!!!
I don't see Bentaleb going anywhere. Would be good to have reliable cover / competition for his position though.
Fat boy rooney apparently tapping up kane while on international duty according to press. Funny thing is that the media (talksport in particular. .. with jason cundy, durham, and others) seem desperate for united to buy kane and lloris but at the same time are critical of levy getting as much money as possible for our players...one 'expert' this morning actually said that man utd are sick of how levy does business ... and that united had a point after the way spurs behaved duribg the berbatov transfer! And as if to prove yhe point said chelsea feel the same way The expert failed to state the obvious though...if united don't like how we do business then A) stop tapping up our players B) **** off and C)the same goes for chelsea transfer time brings out the worst journalism imaginable imo
I agree. Man U, along with the press would have LOOOOOVVVED it if Kane come up as Man U player. Kane is the first striker in a long while who looks like he could become England's next main man. In the same way that the top 4 has now become top 5 in the eyes of the press. (with Liverpool in and not us ironically.) They love the status quo of Man U being on top and the 'traditional' top four battling it out. They include Man City now, only because they have to. If Kane were a Liverpool player, Rooney would shut up. If Kane were Man City, Rooney would shut up. Same for Arsenal and Chelsea. It would be seen as a disrespect, and the press would have none of it. This is partly why I respect Levy. I only hope he has seen the futility in letting our best players go, and shows an even more stubborn side, telling them to all piss off!!!!!
How the **** can anyone look at the Berbatov to Man Utd transfer and see Spurs as the bad guys? The guy should be embarrassed to even claim to be a journalist, let alone an expert.
after the berbatov transfer the press were reporting how pissed off fergie was with Levy for making things so awkward from that point on he moaned about Levy being awkward .... Fryers transfer from standard liege springs to mind
http://www1.skysports.com/football/...lle?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Typical. How about, 'He's the perfect fit for Spurs!' ?!?
They're all at it sadly enough. It'd be real refreshing for a journalist or a pundit to go against the grain of Man U brown nosing. It's as if Man U are the royal family for English football. They said all of that because Berbatov wanted the move, and we delayed it because we wanted a suitable replacement. How awkward of us. Thing is we now know that Kane doesn't want the move. So they should just STFU!
Levy does seem to have a bee in his bonnet about United after the way they tapped up Berbatov, I very much doubt he will consider doing business with them in a hurry again, it was rumoured Levy turned down more money from United for Bale. One thing is for sure, if either Lloris or Kane end up at United they will have to pay through their arse to get them. Surely Levy will not sell our best players again, especially Kane, surely he dare not sell him at any price.
