I'm sure a couple of us will be watching this in some ways, I'm sure I'll watch an odd bit here and there. Just noticed Mitch Evans is taking part in LMP2, really sticking to Webbers tracks!

Theres a few VLC streams about,

I'll try and catch some of it. Curious how Hulkenburg will adapt.

Hulk is currently third in night qualifying, but it's a bit all over the shop with red flags and a slippy track at the moment

Learnt a lot of Russian so far haha.
Porsche has the quali speed but Audi will dominate the 24 hours. As has been the trend since they returned.. Toyota are nowhere at the moment.
Our Hulk is fairing brilliantly. 3rd overall 2 seconds off the leader so far.
Will be good to see Webber and Heidfeld, Fisichella over the weekend.

The best time anyone managed in the Nissan? Unloved by all? It's mad Max

Maybe it was his team mates, I wasn't paying attention enough to know who was at the wheel for that time.

Good. Don't quite get the Nissan hype. I'm a Rebellion man myself.

Fairly uneventful so far, the safety car did a nice job of bunching everyone up again, although it's a shame it lasted as long as it did.

The Porsche fire was pretty spectacular, had a horrible feeling the driver wasn't going to get out in time, the way they were struggling.

The Audi rebuild was pretty impressive.

    You can't compare the two.

As blunt as I sound, you can. Le Mans is a sport for men. F1 is a parade of advertisments, and full of soap-like plots.

Both of those quotes are absolute bollocks.

How many ex (and currnent!) F1 drivers are now racing at Le Mans? How many of them have won races in F1 or were considered to be great talents or were consistently fighting for WDC's?

A lot of drivers at Le Mans are amateur/gentlemen drivers or the derided pay drivers that are so hated in F1.

May as well go completely mad with comparisons and say that Le Mans drivers are pussys compared to those who do Paris-Dakar style rallies. They're real men, driving in that heat for day after day etc etc. Le Mans, just the 24 hours? pfft, barely worth getting in the car for.........

I apologise if I have broken away from the delusion that F1 is the pinnacle of motorsport. Many people on here would back me up as to say, 'it really isn't these days'.

Whilst I enjoy both, you can't argue the Le Mans field has any better depth than F1. As ASC says, there's a lot of pay-drivers outside of LMP1.

I agree with both sides of the argument. I'd probably say the main difference is that #LM24 is more of a sport where as #F1 is a coordinated business masscarading as a sport.
