Cambiasso has ruled out returning to Argentina to play I cant see Cambiasso signing for an english team unless its us
As we live here, we know the truth but for foreigners, London has a big appeal. I really hope he stays but does he have the stomach for another relegation battle?
A relegation battle with West Haaaaaam I presume you mean, we will be pushing for European footy with Cambi as our linch pin. Or at least I hope that's how it'll turn out
West Ham got the europa league via fair play Having won the champions league i dont think that would be a major pull if they serious about signing Cambiasso
They are in a stronger place than we are and will require a larger squad to cope with the europa league. I wouldnt be surprised at all if he left, he doesnt owe us a thing and WHU would be one final challenge for him. Im currently surprised with how many midfielders we aren't being linked with. We need a new one regardless of the Cambiasso situation.
I´d be ****ed off if he did. He doesn´t owe us any thing that´s true, but you kind of get a feeling that he belongs to us & he has a job to do in establishing LCFC as a prem team. While I´m here. Kramaric will be our player of the season next season. You heard it here 1st.
We have King, James, Drinkwater and Hammond (who's been offered a new contract) if Cambiasso goes. Four players covering two positions is fine. However, if you're implying we need better quality in the middle of the park (should Cambiasso go) then I'd agree.
Matty James is a write off for at least 3/4 of next season, If Drinkwater can't find his feet again then we will be in big trouble if we don't sign another midfielder even if Cambiasso signs a new deal
I know that but you don't go buying players to cover injuries (apart from Schwarzer). If something happened to Drinkwater and/or Hammond, we would probably look at an emergency loan. In terms of Drinky finding his feet, as I said above I do think there isn't much Prem quality in the centre of the park if you take out Cambiasso. But signing up Hammond to a new contract makes me think we aren't going to address this area should Cambiasso stay.
I think we will strengthen central mid in this window...Pearson was obviously after the lad who went to Palace and had the altercation with... and with the James injury we are quite threadbare ... and I'm counting on Cambiasso signing!
Drinky me thinks will not play much of a part now I'm sorry to say. King and Cambi if he stays with another new signing could be how we start next season. Who'll that'll be Ive no idea!
We didn't sign McArthur because Cambiasso came in. If Cambiasso had gone elsewhere, we'd have signed McArthur, but obviously Pearson thought six CM players was too many. i think we'll only sign a midfielder if it's considered an "upgrade" on what we have. But as I said, the fact that our fifth choice CM has just signed a new contract implies to me that we'e not looking to offload anyone in that position. I might be wrong, but all this seems to imply to me that Pearson's priorities lie elsewhere.
... the official line was that the deal broke down because Wigan went public... not sure what went wrong ... but personally I don't think it was Cambiasso signing that killed it ... James, King Drinky and Hammond always looked lightweight in Prem terms when compared to most other squads...
Thats the one i think the 4 you mentioned are great for a squad and can put in good perfomances, but we need to look at players that can take control of games like Cambiasso did. Would be great if we got Cambiasso paired with another top class CM, someone like Gareth Barry whos had top level experience for a few years.
Yet we seem to have no intention of moving any of them on. I'd have thought it would have been a good opportunity to let Hammond go if we planned to strengthen here.
