Skrtels Nips, i liked your comment, but Baines would cost well over £20 million, we would just refer to your previous signings and say come on get real. He is still young tied to a 5 year deal, and has consistently been one of the best performers in the prem for the last 3 seasons, his assists alone are worth 20 million.
Skrtels Nips, just quickly setanta was (NOT) my source but intresting to see it on other media feeds too. Bozz, i refer you to the Doni (30) deal, he was first team? and that deal may yet go through. had to edit that lol
Everything's gone quiet with respect to Enrique. Do we read anything into this, or do we just trust Kenny and 'The Liverpool Way'? I say the latter of the two. I.m sure we will have a decent LB before the window closes.
Red Hadron Collider, lol not seen you in a while, ie normal 606 was wondering where you went, i wont say who i am cos it generally goes down like a lead balloon
Bozz, isnt pepe reina recovering from a double hernia operation? what happens if he is not fit for the start, i know they say he should be but what if he encouters some compications in his recovery, or god forbid he gets a serious injury during the season, is your current reserve keeper (still first team squad) surficcient to hold the fort shuld he get a long lay off? i refer again to Liverpools OFFICIAL approach for a 30 year old keeper.
You are just trying to win a pointless argument there. When it comes to goalkeepers experienced cover is needed and it makes sense to sign Doni. We could put in Gulacsi and completely ruin his confidence so an exception to the policy is made with the goalkeeping situation. It doesn't change the fact that we are not looking to buy older outfield players, we already have enough experience in the team and need to build for the future, Bridge does not fit the criteria and I am confidant we will not sign him.
I told Ze Liverbird this article was an obvious wum.He didn't believe me,I should know what an obvious wum is,I posted enough of them on the Man United board.
Bozz, totally agree and debate means for intresting conversation, what a boring world it would be if everyone agreed
ArabianExPat. I think I may have an inkling.......Go on, give us a clue. Everyone has to 'Come out' at some stage
Red Hadron Collider, some can never come out unfortunately. im pretty sure you inkling is correct though.
Keepers are completely different and you know it. Most keepers can keep going until they're 40; whereas most players can't. A keeper can maintain the same ability throughout the whole of his career regardless of age, and interestingly enough Keepers generally peak in physical fitness and reflexes around the age of 32...
Ze Liverbird, i wouldnt say most keepers go to 40, you may get the odd one but yes i agree in essence they last longer tha outfield players.
Jonesey, rational depends on moderation, thats not saying i am or not lettuce, but the level of moderation here means you have to stay close to reality, each forum differs.
