Good morning all from a mild and dry Weston-super-Mare! 23C promised for later! Too hot for me! Have a good day
Afternoon all, thanks for the frothy AK.. I have just received these in the post - great present for a supporter https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/233532361/postcard-box-set?ref=shop_home_active_1 Some good looking other stuff on there as well
Just had a big storm which meant that the island softball training session I was supposed to be going to has been cancelled - lightning and metal bats aren't a good mix!
Morning all, for the past 24 hours we have been on storm alert. Last night there was some rumbling and the sky was lit up by electrical lightening, but it circled around us and the heavy rain or hail missed us altogether. Over the past fortnight we have had about 4 hours of rain and yesterday the temperature was 31°C, so everywhere is looking quite brown and parched. The French Prime Minister 'borrowed' an air force jet to fly him and his two sons to watch the European Cup Final. This created a bit of a stink, so while he claimed to be on official business, he has said that he will pay a sum for the two boys. He should have caught the train which would have pleased the Greens, helped with the deficit that SNCF are running and improved his knowledge about what the ordinary football fan talks about.

What is happening to England? We have stories here that a teacher was stabbed with a knife yesterday and a mother has kidnapped her son to stop the child going with his father. Is this not the second teacher stabbed in one calendar year? Tonight is the match of Ísland and Czech Republic with a full staduim at Laugurdalsvöllur and a family of ravens. So long since the last match nobody saw the ravens build their home and now there are babies there which have not flown yet.
Just completed the pilgrimage to Sheffield and back. Left at 4pm, home by 12am...not bad with a couple of stops, including picking my elder daughter up from Uni and loading the car with a bonkers amount of carrier bags! The 'collecting from uni' trip is like an away day without the joy of football! lol
Morning all, nice temperature here today to get on and do some jobs. Saturdays at this time of year without football are strange, no excuse to stop. Suppose that next season will be even odder, as I don't know what day of the week it is half the time, and use football as a reference point.
AK has probably got a hangover this morning? Thoroughly deserved too if last night's results were properly celebrated...
As you'd expect with a student from Jersey it's different. Although I think the policy of Derby University should be relaxed for students that don't live on the mainland. Jerzeypie is in the same room at halls next year as he's been this year but he has to get his stuff out of his room only to have to take it back in the autumn. If he asks to leave it there, they charge a large fee for him to be able to or if he doesn't ask, they throw it away charging the same fee. Luckily, one of his Mum's cousins lives in Derby and she's agreed to store some of his stuff on condition he house sits while she's on holiday. There's also a family friend in Leicester who'll store the rest. Lovely sunny morning in St. Helier but I did something rare for me, sleeping in until 10. I must have needed the sleep, and it's better for me to do that than have fits due to being over-tired.
AK, could be worse, people get written off here on a daily basis, and I am considering my movements ATM. A teacher getting knifed is one thing, terrible. Nevertheless, when multiple people go misssing where you live after elections, that is another. Things aren´t on Ice on this land, hot as hell here.
Good morning all from a humid but drying Weston-super-Mare! Have a good day and take care Mex, doesn't sound very pleasant over there!
