Holy Bad Mascots! Ponders can you comment on the authenticity of our medieval friends costume? http://www.cafc.co.uk/news/article/charlton-new-mascots-robin-knight-2491035.aspx
Feel sorry for whoever gets lumped with the knight in the summer. And the relation between a knight and a robin? The most mismatched duo since (someone enter witty remark)
Should be batman and Robin with Roland thrown in as the Joker. Why does there have to be a change of mascot? What was wrong with Floyd and Harvey? Seems to be change for change sake.
Floyd had worms and was put down because RD wouldn't pay the vet fees. Harvey just refuses to do it anymore.
Could be worse. I hear Mussel and Poirot made the shortlist. And, let's face it, all Floyd and Harvey had to do with Charlton was their names.
The helmet is Milanese circa 1440. The shield is likely to be Iberian, possibly Portuguese, circa 1480. The main body of the armour (cuirass, cuisses etc.) appears to be etched, possibly fluted, so we must assume it's Maximilian (16th century German). The sword belongs to Conan the Barbarian. A real mishmash.
I would go for the Knight but some do gooder will stop it as it could predict violence blah blah blah
