    QPR....

Still gutted we let him go and QPR seem to be getting in some decent players! Think they'll be challenging for autos next season so yet again we might see a player we had who makes it to the prem with another club! and no doubt JET will score against us too!...

I'm beginning to feel the same way mate.

He had that bit of something different you can't buy.

He seems like a nice guy, and he did reasonably well for us, but I think QPR have ****ed up a bit here if they're looking for JET to lead their line. I think he'll bang a few goals in at the start, but when things go pear shaped I can definitely see him dropping out of the first team, or looking lost like he did for us a few times.

On a related note, I thought that QPR were still in the **** with the Football League for trying to bail on their FFP payments? Does anyone know what happened with that?

think we"ve dropped one here, he"d be great to have on the bench, but presumably and understandably, he woundnt be happy with that, good luck to him tho, seemed a good bloke.

Not happening. The football league keep changing the rules and even now they are relaxing them further. We got stuck with long contracts and players on high wages, what do the football league expect us to do, not pay them?

As for JET, i believe that he will be used as a squad player and not the main striker, however we are trying to build a team with players that want to play and get rid of players like Shaun wrong Phillips. Most QPR fans just want players to be proud off.

I wonder if there is a back story to this. He didn't want to stay with us if he may have warmed the bench, but happy to sign for QPR, where tbh I suspect he will not be a first choice, so will likely warm the bench there. If we don't replace JET with a flair player who can turn a game on his own, then yes it was a mistake to let him go.

I heard that Ipswich were still paying some of his wages - when his contract was up we could not match what he was on before (and he did not want to take a pay cut) so we did not offer a new deal

I am sure we will see many developments in the transfer market over the next few months.
We have an impossibly light squad and we need to upgrade for the Championship.
Lansdown has made it clear that he wants Premiership football, and his trust in Cotterill will be sky high after last season.
So I can see surprises and no lack of ambition during the coming months. Let QPR have JET, and we will take our chances with whoever Cotterill buys.

    Incoming !

He seems to be a genuinely nice guy but he doesn't stay anywhere for long, and that tells you all you need to know.

Is it just wanderlust, or lack of focus, or something else ? One thing's for sure, he lacks something, I don't know what it is, but it's that missing element that prevents him from ever being the absolute superstar he could, or maybe should be.

I wish him the best of luck, some of the goals he scored for us were fantastic, but at other times he drove me nuts.

Thats the trouble with English footballers - always flawed, especially the genius ones.
Oh for a Messi or Pele, a genius that doesn't shoot himself in the foot

If I was a QPR fan I'd be wondering why a team from league 1 let him go for scot free.

Qpr are creating a hell of a league 1 team though, Luongo, gladwin now JET

I agree he could change a game............. at L1 level.

Whether he can change a game for QPR, or for anyone else at Championship level is unknown.

I think the money side of it was more than 50% of the problem, I think he would have liked to stay..there was no fuss on either side mutual consent?

I doubted SC when he sold Kelly - our best player - and brought in the unknown Smith.
