Paul Gallagher, Matt Upson, Conrad Logan, Zoumana Bakoyogo and Gary Taylor Fletcher have been released

Dean Hammond and Esteban Cambiasso have been offered new deal

James Pearson also has been offered a new deal but this list is as of the 28th May so he may since have been withdrawn

 

Strange Pearson was offered a new contract anyway, since he hasn't got near the first team. Perhaps he has relatives in high places.

Am surprised Simpson is still on there.

 

... probably a legal thing, given his court case being appealed...

 

The retained list is all the players under contract. Simpson still has 2 more years so we would have to either sell him or cancel his contract

 

Sell him, we need better any way.

 

I think that may prove hard to do with the court case above his head. He will be on a decent wage aswell

Ability wise alot of championship clubs would want him

 

So what's going on with the Simpson case? He's already been found guilty. When will sentencing be carried out?

Actually there is more to this - his ex-wife told police that she was not assaulted and wasn't called to give evidence at the trial.

Dunno about all of you but that seems strange to me.

... not that surprising if you consider where her 'support' comes from...

 

The police witnessed the attack so didn't need her testimony. Which is good as she wouldn't have given any, as many women living in fear don't.

 

The clubs needs to learn from Simpson, Hopper, Smith and Pearson and make sure there contracts state what sort of behaviour is expected and failure to do so could lead to their contracts terminated without compensation
