There are tons of Newcastle fans who really aren't convinced by McLaren, I genuinely fail to see the viable alternatives. We aren't on the radar for bigger managers and our options are untried potential managers (Viera, etc.) who are interesting but a gamble. I think NUFC fans like the idea of rolling the dice too much, I just want steady progression. 10-13th next year would be grand. Anything better and/or a cup run would be fantastic.

Nads wanted McClaren. IIRC he put him right at the top of his list should Poyet get sacked.

I think you've both ended up with managers who should have no trouble taking you forward next season, rivalry aside I'm sure you'd both love to be competing for honours together rather than squabbling over who's more likely to be relegated.

I think you can both look forward to much better next season.

I'm chuffed to bits about Dick signing for us.

I'm more than a little concerned about McLaren being in charge up the road!

When McClaren was getting linked to us, the vast majority of comments from our fans were extremely negative towards him to say the least. I wasn't one of them and said that his club record is not all that bad. I now hope that his club record takes a bit of a nose dive mind..

I've no idea how good a coach/manager he is but you're right about this.
His 'smiling man of the people' act just doesn't come off does it .......... you just know it's all false.

Penis Avocado is a better manager than McLaren. No complaints about that. I am somewhat happy we have him though. A step up from Pardew.

He was prone to good runs with us too. If Palace aren't in the relegation mix next season, I will be surprised. Their team are too good to go down but this is the clown is capable if wonderous negativity.
