Sorry Bill, Just for you. He should get on well with Cattermole Axel Thomas Witsel (born 12 January 1989 in Liège) is a Belgian football player who plays for Benfica.[2] His natural position is defensive midfielder, but he came into the first team as a right-winger. His father has roots in Martinique (French Caribbean) and is a former football player, and his mother is Belgian. Career On 17 September 2006 a 17-year-old Witsel made his debut in a competitive game against FC Brussels when he replaced Steven Defour in the 89th minute. He soon apologised, but was the subject of criticism from several media outlets and numerous death threats from angry Anderlecht and Poland fans.[5] The initial ban until 23 November by the Belgian Football Association,[6] was later reduced on appeal to eight matches.[7] Full name Axel Thomas Witsel Born 12 January 1989 (1989-01-12) (age 22) Liège, Belgium Height 1.83 m (6 ft 0 in)[1] Playing position Midfielder Club information Current club Benfica Number TBD Youth career 2004â2006 Standard Liège Senior career* Years Team Appsâ (Gls)â 2006â2011 Standard Liège 146 (32) 2011- Benfica 0 (0) National teamâ¡ 2008â Belgium 19 (5)
I've seen him many a time Bill when I lived in Belgium. Very good player for Standard Liege and very effective down the right. Was certainly one of the best talents in a squad full of quality. Since the tackle (it was a bad challenge) he's been hounded by the press (Brussels based mainly) and his game went off the boil. He has an unfounded reputation of an on pitch hard man. If he signed for NUFC; I'd be very happy. EDIT: Seems he's only just signed to Benfica this window.
Saw Guns N Roses at Donnington a few year ago (well it was axel and a hired band) but they were ****. To busy complaining on stage about things not being right for them rather than playing songs.
Read Slash's autobiography. Made it sound like Axl Rose was so far up his own arse he was unlikely ever to be found.
He slipped over on the stage and refused to come back on until the stage was fully carpeted when i saw them. Highlight of the gig was when seb bach from skidrow came on stage for a song. Just a shame it wasnt a skid row song he did
Axel Witsel basically he would walk into our team, Brucie should have a word with Big Simon to speak to his fellow countrymen in Witsel and Defour who I have seen live and was briliant about joining the mackem revolution from Standard Liege got suspended for a few months for a horror tackle a couple of seasons back
