Interesting he mentions the east coast time difference.. could our alleged partner club be in the eastern conference?
From memory, we are looking to set up Saints Academies in USA so siting them on the East Coast makes perfect sense. Spread our brand via youth and also pick up talent over there and bring them over to Staplewood for final development then into the first team squad...win/win!
This is what I meant when someone was making a point yesterday about the club not spreading out and getting the word around.
Either he knows much more about football speak [which I very much suspect is the case] or I'm getting the hang of the way he talks, because he makes more sense every time I hear him. I'm getting to be a bit of a fan of our Mr Krueger. I like what he says and I love the direction the club is taking. I might even award him an affectionate nickname. Say like...Freddy.!
Is there anything interesting or worth highlighting in there? I can't handle 17 minutes Krugertime today!!
They were going to partner up with those Global Image Sports guys that West Ham, Wolverhampton, and few other clubs have used. I don't know what happened with that. I know Stoke hired them last year and they have run two camps near where I live recently. Sunderland also just partnered up with DC United this winter. Crystal Palace used to have a 2nd division affiliate in Baltimore that closed. I think they are still trying to do something there. I've heard or seen nothing about Southampton.
Here's the Guardian's take on the interview for those who can't be bothered to listen to it: http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/jun/10/southampton-ralph-krueger-europa-league?
