Motherwell have conceded defeat, and have agreed to sell Lee Erwin to Leeds for a fee believed to be in the region of £375,000, with a probable selling on fee.

The 6 foot 2 Scottish under 21 international will sign a three year deal as early as tomorrow.

Let's give that news the 606 fanfare it truly deserves. Rejoice at that news.

Will come as a nasty shock to those expecting us to be splashing fees around of 3m on Milan internationals

Interestingly who did we beat off to capture this guy? As usual, no one. If he's any good surely someone else would be after him. First proper signing and it's a meh from me

34 appearances 5 goals, we already have Ajose, Morrison, Doukara, Sharp, Antenucci, unless we are signing a quality prolific striker you have to question why...

To get promoted you need a core of Premiership quality players, not some second rate striker from north of the border. What a completely pointless signing.

Ristac me o'de cocker, how the devil are you doing.

In all fairness to Antenucci, he was scoring regularly and doing well, then Redders dropped him in favour of Sharp then 2 goals in 40 games Morison.

I think had Antenucci played a lot more games, more regularly then he would've been close, if not hitting the twenty goal mark. I think Duke would've got over 10 or 12 goals too.....:emoticon-0148-yes:

More to the point name a striker we currently have who is worse. We don't want to stand still, we need to improve by a good 20-25% in all positions compared to the last two years. Not happening if we continue to make this type of signing, this is the business model Cellino has made all through his time of owning football clubs and it hasn't delivered anywhere apart from in his wallet.

This is my point and the point raised by Chippy.. We already have the strikers I mentioned so why sign another. We have plenty of options up front, not great but we have them, to improve we need to sign better than what we already have or as I questioned, why bother?

Didn't a certain player come from Greenoch Morton for next to nothing, everyone groaned who is this player..........was Joe Jordan, a proper CF and was put in the Scottish hall of fame..................give the kid a chance ffs.
Also didn't we splash the cash and spend millions on a panic buy for a certain Thomas Brolin, now that man was a total crab

Motherwell were second worst team in Scottish pl last season and were awful. That doesn't say a lot for the lad. As I've already asked, why did no other club want him. Same nonsense as the Northern Ireland lad, Robbie whatever, what happened to him or is he another one for the future. I think what's irritating some of us is the constant nonsensical links with 3m valued players and when the signings come, this is typical of what we get. If I was being cynical I'd suggest the big name links are simply to flog season tickets but I won't suggest that

Nowhere have I said I won't give him a chance, I will cheer him on and wish him well. Just a déjà vou feeling already about the quality we are signing. It is one thing having a scouting system in place to sign the next Joe Jordan, another Cellino plucking one out with his scatter gun approach. I forgot about McDaid or whatever his name is Eire.

Cellino spinning the usual Leeds line of signing anyone on the cheap for the sake of it, simply to get ST bums on seats and yet plenty still fall for it! <doh>

My verdict, worth a punt for that price and I personally think he looks good! Cant litter the squad with these kind of signings (which I am affraid we will) but worth a punt.

This is my only concern with this signing. We have Ajose still at the club, does he still fit in (as well as morison) and if so where?

Can't believe how many people are knocking this signing he looks good to me and I have watched him against Rangers where he scored and got a penalty what's the matter with you lot
As for the fact that he has scored so few goals so had Beckford until the end of the season then everybody said lets get Beckford no thank you!
