Was just wondering, how long ago do trophy wins have to have been before they are classed as 'Istoree? We won our second league title 10 years ago now, does that count or is 10 years too recent to be 'Istoree? Any Liverpool fans wanna weigh in?
History is yesterday, past, gone never to return. If you don't learn from it , you soon become part of it. Just like Liverpool.
Indeed. That "free" team Liverpool built in the 80's with all those academy players like Mark Lawrenson, Alan Hansen, Graeme Sounness, Jan Molby, Kevin Keegan, Kenny Dalglish, Ronnie Whelan.....all free. They werent paid a dime either!
All clubs have history, I would think true supporters are proud of their club/team because of something they can point to in the past.
True. Especially since we bought yours for you according to a well connected member of the internet. We did however, win one title without buying it. They said it couldn't be done but we went and did it.
Chelsea have a history, there's no doubt about that. The modern fans wants to bury it as it's shameful but the few hardcore fans want to cling onto it as they're proud of it.
Believe me, the so called red army were known as one of the worst fans for hooliganism bsck in the day. You have nothing to be smug about.
Only as good as your last season. So atm there is Chelsea "and the rest" in the PL in terms of the best team. Trophies won are trophies won, if you are going to go back 2 years you might as well go back 60 or 100 years. They all count.
Yes that is convenient for the current champions, once a ball is kicked this coming season last season doesn't matter, none of it matters, especially if someone else is crowned champions come the end of the season and any bragging by you will be "banging on about istoree" United fans banging on about their titles now is no different than Preston North End fans banging on about their titles, all resigned to istoree
