England weren't below par at all. When have you last seen England playing really good football? Their performance today was par for the course for the last 20-odd years. You're still living in 1966.

Your Bulldog routine is getting tedious now. If you want to use friendlies as an excuse then how come England haven't beaten Ireland in a competitive fixture for nearly four decades? Just suck it up and stop being such a bad loser/drawer.

I insulted the Chelsea fans earlier. To be fair to them they were much more gracious than you <doh>

You made the claim, you post the evidence. Get the clip up so we can judge for ourselves. Personally I think you were so eager to hear booing you heard it even though it wasn't there.

Go and sleep it off Doggie. WOOF WOOF!

History would say otherwise, Ireland have a very good record against England, including the 1-1 draw at the 1990 World Cup which was the worst game I have ever seen in the flesh. And of course they beat us at the previous Euro Championships.

Heard some commentary when driving. Didn't hear the national anthems, but when the English fans were singing God Save the Queen in the second half it was mixed in with that 'no surrender' ****, which was rightly booed. Perhaps there was an element of this at the line up too. Can't say I blame the Irish anyway.

I thought this was on at 7:30 tonight, went to Asda, the tip and washed the car instead. Looks like i made the right choice.

For me that reflected exactly what the game was, a meaningless friendly. It was all about getting some fitness back into some slightly flabby legs.

Been busy since watching the "game".
I usually don't bother watching these stupid friendlies, but, obviously, watched the whole game (apart from 20 mins of the first half when I fell asleep) waiting to see Charlie.
Thanks Woy for wasting two hours of my (very busy) day.

QPR have a pretty good record against Chelsea. Vauxhall Motors have a great record against QPR.

Ireland have a tendency to raise their game for England but there's a pretty clear gulf between the sides.

Vardy plays better when paired with a target man, his strength is running the channels between centre backs and full-backs ... he would have been more effective alongside Austin .... most on our board suspect Woy may be saving Austin's debut for Slovenia ...

Vardy is a very similar player to Rooney. They both drop back and run from midfield. Neither are true strikers of the type Sunday's game was crying out for. Austin must have been regretting cancelling his honeymoon for 90 minutes on a plastic bench in Dublin...

Agreed Col. However, can we please change the "The Irish Fans" to "Some Irish Yobs"?

I was at the game and the booing was embarrassing. I was at the Irl v Eng rugby match in Croke Park a few years back and the anthem respect was hair-on-the-back-of-the-neck tingling.

Yob, soccer 'fans'.......I can't stand 'em!

As an aside, I watched that game with my Irish father -in-law (I think it was that one, or maybe the first rugby match at Croke park) - and it had a clip of a "fan" (or rather a GAA fan) with a placard saying "No foreign sports". My father-in-law guffawed for about 10 minutes as the fellow in question was wearing a foreign sport jersey, for a foreign football club - Glasgow Celtic. He said he must be from Kerry (sorry Ciarrai) :)

He's from Cork City, and was brought up in Ballyphehane - although he was born in London.

He always gets excited when he sees someone in the City with a QPR top on and gets my missus to tell me. I tell him there's a lot of us in Ireland.
