Albert Woodfox has been released from solitary confinement in prison after 43 years. He was in there because of a prison riot which caused the death of a guard in 1972. He has been tried twice but both convictions overturned and a judge has banned a third trial. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-33059012
Spoiler He's got his wings folded. Dragons always look smaller on the ground. Spoiler **** you, Stannis
Spoiler: Game of Thrones After Stannis' sacrifice, I'm left with very few characters who haven't betrayed me in some way. Bronn is one of the few left that I feel I can trust.
Just sat down to fix someone's laptop. 45,283 updates later. And they wonder why something isn't quite as it should be. Tbh, the thing is fixing itself.
Never fails to amaze me. I'm tech support for my family. They call. "Is Windows up to date? Is AVG up to date? Have you run Malwarebytes as I've told you to do?". The answer's never yes, yes and yes. Vin
Just popped into Programs and Features. Jeez, Trovi and its little minions are everywhere. Seriously thinking of connecting my external keyboard and mouse to this thing, there is so much farting around to do. Laptop keyboards and touchpads drive me insane. Have I said, I wouldn't own a laptop if somebody paid me, before.?
Yes, well I never work on a laptop..! Remember, I'm fixing this one. It's the only time I will go near one. BTW, the various bits of crap have eventually come pouring out of this machine. Tbf, I wonder how it operated at all, frankly. I had a little game with HPui.exe. No, it isn't anything to do with Hewlett Packard but an executable file within the nest of Search & Protect software, which is basically malware. S&P's raison d'etre is to download various spurious programs that promote internet advertising and basically clog up the system in the end. At one point I opened Task Manager and stopped the HPui.exe process. 2 seconds later it restarted itself. The cunning little devil..! This meant it could not be deleted from the computer [this was after being uninstalled]. So I found the individual file in its program folder and got set to delete it. Then I stopped the process in Task Manager and quickly deleted the file before it could be restarted. I can be cunning too..! Anyway, we're very close to having a squeaky clean PC now. There were several other major faults but they were easy to eradicate. 100's of little annoying things that luckily I was able to swat fairly quickly. Quite good fun in the end. Oh, and the Windows Updates. Was this thing ever updated..? I'm really not sure.
Just watched the 2nd episode of Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell. After the 1st one I was interested, and I'm still not completely hooked but it's certainly drawing me in. I don't feel the need to immediately get into the 3rd episode, but I have to say that I'm really impressed with it and the attention to detail. Quite intriguing.
Surprised he managed to make a clean connection! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-33075621
