    Carver delivered a masterclass in how not to manage people. All in 20 games.


    Highlights include accusing Mike Williamson of deliberately getting himself sent off.

    And of course informing everyone that he was the best coach in the Premier League. All he lacked was the players to prove it.



    His tutorial in releasing players no longer required should become the benchmark however.

    He rang up Ryan Taylor, told him that he was being released, then asked if Jonas was there. He was. So Carver asks Ryan to pass the phone over and told Gutierrez that he was gone too.

    Saved 20p.

    You never know when you'll need that.

    Secure employment doesn't last forever.

    He will get a job as a coach somewhere, but as a manager I very much doubt.
