If you can use this logic to help me buy our next house then there'll be a good drink in it for you. I just need to find a house with a hefty mortgage on it and agree to only pay the vendor the equivalent of the equity they have in the property. Done.
People are really ignorant on the views towards Man United debt, people truly want to believe it's a debt that was self inflicted and hope we do a Portsmouth/Leeds
I believe that the argument was being made in the media a few seasons back. Was that all bollocks, then? United doesn't have a huge debt? The problem with looking only at what a club is worth in terms of revenues and ignoring its underlying debt gives us a false impression of the health of that club. I think it's more useful to fans to look at the net worth of a club, and I'm not sure that United would fair so favourably in such a league table. But I could be wrong.
You are a bit dim The value of the club has nothing to do with debt or nett worth, because if the club. Also, if the GGs wanted to sell UTD, they would sell it in an instant unlike other prem league clubs
Whilst calling people dim, perhaps you might like to finish your second sentence? Debts can be called in when lenders start worrying about the way a club is run. If the club had to repay the loans the Glazers have saddled them with, I think that could affect the value of the club?
Hence the chaos. Random bits of paper saying Man Utd owes you X amount. The people have no clue whats going on. They would send in the national guard but nobody knows who pays them. A sorry state of affairs. Damn our debt, damn it to hell (Anfield road)
True. But I would rather own an £800000 house outright with no debt than a £1000000 house with £700000 mortgage <wink>
Agreed. Even better if someone lends me the money to buy the house and then says I don't have to pay them back. I could strut about pretending I'm rich when everyone knows that in reality I am someone's pet...
