    Probably not the best way.
But they wont mind so much about a few thousand people leeching if a few million are paying.

It's barely viable for many pubs now.

It IS ridiculous tho, I remember him showing me his bill for one month and it was like 3 and a half grand or something stupid.

EDIT: That was a month, not a year

Well yes admittedly someone needs to pay. But more fool them. If they ever choose not to then we can just share the cost of shared accounts, possibly...

Still... The notion of paying to watch football to me is absurd given the barrel companies like sky bend you over.

I've got no qualms with those who stream football on the Internet given how much of a ripoff it is to pay to watch yourself

Tobes had this thing where everyone has to pay and obey the law to the letter or they are scum and yada yada.
I agree in principle, to a degree, but he takes it too far.
A little piracy never hurt anyone <whistle>

    You pay to watch yourself?

The notion of paying to watch football may be absurd to you, but no-ones forcing you to watch the football. And if no-one pays, then there'e a problem.

    Indeed therein lies the problem.
If everyone took the stance of "Oh well, I aint paying for this ****" then Sky make no money and there is no incentive for them to show the football in the first place.

But on the other hand Sky DO take the piss. So I can kinda see both sides.
Anyway, I pay for Sky Sports. <ok>

I should be more explicit. The notion of paying the amounts sky charge is absurd to me.

No mate, I have this 'thing' about people streaming football that I'm paying for.

There's a direct correlation between the hideous amounts that BT and Sky have to pay for the TV rights and the fact that the EPL is the best and richest league on the planet, which can attract the best players as a result.

Without us 'mugs' then it wouldn't be what it is now.

    Again, I agree with you.
But the amount we pay is getting ridiculous, and it is just all going in the players' back pockets.
Who in the actual **** needs to be paid £200k per week, I mean come on ffs.
I am one of those "mugs" anyway Tobes, so I'm clean :p

BT Sport have announced that at least 12 Champions League games will be shown on free-to-air television next season.

The broadcaster, who will have sole UK rights for the Champions League and Europa League games from next term, will show those matches on a new channel called BT Sport Showcase, along with at least 14 Europa League games. Each participating British team will be shown at least once.

Gary Lineker will be the broadcaster's main presenter but will still host Match of the Day on BBC1, while former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard will be a pundit.
