Yes - Lets hope he is a bit better than the guy we paid 3.5 million for! Another Alan Nielsen type player would be nice..
We have been lucky over the years to have a few class players Cotton ,James,Simms,Mc celland, Nielsen,,Barnes,Young,Johnson,Blisset and maybe one day we mite add troy to that list
This man cost 4m last year and has hardly played. He is good though so we may be interested in him but not to buy but for a loan. There is no way we will buy anybody from anywhere at those sort of prices. Forget it. Look at out of contract players or those high class players who have been through serious injury and in the right age group; these are the more likely targets. There is a young midfielder at Spurs that may be a target. As for Mr Barton, I do hope the stories are wrong. Overpriced for what he is and tbh I think we have as good already in the squad. Not my type of person; I would not like to see him at the Vic
The rumours re Barton continue to grow, but just what sort of influence would he be in the dressing room on the occasions he wasn't banned?
He would be in the top 3 in my legends list But he has to prove he can do it in the EPL to be called class .Doley is a true legend Gibbs Jackect but few of them was class (great on there day)
Ladbrokes have Barton odds on to join us. http://news.ladbrokes.com/football/...t-watford-driving-seat-sign-joey-barton.html? In my mind I always thought I'd was Ladbrooks. Lad Broke seems more fitting for a betting company. I'm surprised I didn't notice that earlier.
Is this thing about Joey Barton joining Watford all agant talk? Joey Barton needs a club, probably wants to stay wherever he is living, go to another London or near-London club and newly promoted clubs are always an easy bet to get a link. So, which club ticks all the boxes? Do we as supporters want him? I would say probably not. Does the club need him? Again, probably not. Why won't this rumour die? I don't know. Is Joey Barton's agent any good? If he can talk his client into a deal just by speading rumours, I'd have to say yes. Could we get Joey Barton David Connolly's agent then he might want away before he ever arrived?
Weighing up the positives and negatives of this potential signing, can anyone actually think of any real positives? Yes he is a combative midfielder and, to be fair, can motivate the team when he wants to but don't we already have that? I just can't help thinking he would be an accident waiting to happen and one we cannot afford.
We already have as good. So NO THANK YOU! Hopefully it is his agent touting for a London club for him. We should have nothing to do with him.
