Rodgers did not want him. He was let down by the committee who insisted on signing him. If we sign Benteke for £20m or more the club will look stupid for refusing to pay £19m for Bony.
If we couldn't play to Mario's strengths, then not sure how Rodgers will get the best out of Benteke or Bony.
I would agree with this. i cannot see how the club could back the decision on carroll (right due to injuries) then end up buying balotelli after wanting bony but not bidding and then going off and spending double balotelli money on Benteke. Makes no sense to me. We want a guy whos just over 6 feet, and fast and mobile not a guy who's 6' 3" or 6' 4" or what and immoble and wanting it slung in.
Also, Rodgers rarely used Borini or could get the best out of him. Ings is very similar. Will Rodgers have more faith in him ...?

Will be interesting to see - with Gerrard gone, we don't have big name players to sell shirts. Mario's name alone is worth millions and owners could see him as a cash cow.
Immobile would be a good signing! Borini was injured a lot. Bad injuries to in his first season. Rodgers was bitter about not getting £14m from Sunderland.
