Just cant understand why we abandon playing football, and adopted hoof ball when we played football we looked a dangerous side and a decent mid-table side.

Our game broke down because once it bounced off our forwards our midfield was so deep we couldn't pick the loose ball up and pin teams back. So teams had so much time and space to hit us on the attack, even agsinst burnley thudd and his mate didnt get close to their midfield

We need to get to grip with the midfield. but like been said at times we look like a team of strangers and tend to attack in one's and two's., the midfield to me is were promotion will be won or lost, and were SB carrier at city might founder.

The only people that attacked were the forwards, thudd and his mate barley saw the halfway line never mind got beyond it, one of the wing backs had knocked the ball forward so he was probably 40 yards away.
I'm convinced the squad as it is now needs to be 4321that, Aluko can cover for snodgrass until he gets back. Ince and diame will weigh in with 25+ goals between them minimum, Aluko or snodgrass another 10

How about playing Brady Snodgrass Ince, a 3 man attacking trio behind a new striker like Rhodes or whoever. Snodgrass could be a great no.10 and ince & brady on either wing would be lethal.

then have, if we hold on to them, diame & Huddlestone as the 2 man midfield.

    4-2-3-1

Everyone says pick a formation to suit your team, well if we are selling ndoye, hernandez & jela, we only really need to sign 1 big/expensive striker as our main guy and then maybe buy a young, up & coming striker from the lower leagues or get a loan.

    for example..

    ___________Rhodes
    Brady_____Snodgrass______Ince
    ______Diame______Thudd
    Robbs__Dawson__Maguire__Elmo

Tailor made really.. Aluko could play anywhere in the attacking 4 players, meyler and hopefully quinn can rotate/cover for the 2 man midfield, obviously it was madness to get rid of rosie as he would have been perfect for either fullback position when needed.

now that, a 4-2-3-1 would surely be the way forward, its time to get rid of the the 3 at the back, wingback formation, it seems fairly easy to stop us from playing. where as this, if done properly would be very hard to stop.

also as bruce is a fairly defensive manager, it drops into a comfortable 4-4-1-1 when required.

Would love to see Rhodes at city, but the reality of it he's on a silly money 8 year contract at Blackburn and has no interest in leaving Blackburn the guy's more interested in his bank account than his career.

Hmmm not sure about diame there and thudd is wasted there imo. I think thudd needs to move on for the good of the team as well as him. Your cb partnership would worry me as neither have any pace

    If
if we played the 3 as we are suggesting would that system suit Hernandez more? Would he be the answer

My argument is that maybe our strikers are not as bad as we think, if we had been playing with a half decent midfield, then our forwards may have had a better return.

Yes I've said all season and prob the season before we could make messi and Rooney look poor strikers due to lack of service. We could end any prolific strikers career FACT :)

Bruce has bought the wrong type of strikers for his hoof ball style he should have bought crouch etc.
Had he got Defoe that would have been another bollock because there's no point knocking the long ball upto him

For those that remember him and also lament our youth/reserve system, Karim Rossi has 4 in 10 for Zulte Waragem in the Belgian top division. Hmm.

Absolutely bang on the money. It doesn't matter which striker, or how many, we get in if our midfield carries on like last season. Hernandez has been crucified on here but how many crosses to him have been from the bye line? Not many, if any! How many diagonal balls have been played through to him for him to run on to? Again, same answer. He's obviously not the type of striker that's suited to playing with his back to goal, Bruce should have seen that and done something about it!

As Chazz has rightly pointed out he looked latterly as if he was lacking effort, however I think I'd probably have got to feel exactly the same way as him if I'd have been playing in his position and having to feed off the same dire support from midfield.

It's easily explained, strikers playing with an effective midfield will score goals. We have seemingly neither an effective midfield or a manager that recognises the fact.

He wouldn't have scored in our first team...... We wouldn't have given him the ball to do so
