Le10 Sport have revealed that Swansea City are close to finally signing Saint Etienne defender please log in to view this image Franck Tabanou. The Premier League side tried to sign the Frenchman in the last transfer window but a deal never materialised. It has been claimed that Swansea City have already put in an improved offer of €5m to sign Tabanou in the next transfer window, and it looks likely that the Ligue 1 side will this time accept the bid. The Welsh side have been locked in talks with Saint Etienne in the past few weeks which was confirmed by the clubs president. Bernard Caiazzo said they have been in talks with Swansea City with regards to Tabanou, and they expect the player to leave in the summer. Only last month we covered on reports from France that discussions have been revived between the two clubs, and there is a good chance that the Premier League side may get their man. In January Swansea proposed a €4.5m transfer fee for Tabanou with the possibility of the player remaining with the French side until June. At the time Saint Etienne turned down this offer but the new proposal which came in from the Welsh side should secure a deal.

Swansea, who made failed attempts to sign the player in January, were previously understood to be firmly in the running for the former Toulouse man. Not only has a fee agreement supposedly been reached, but the French football website also affirms that Franck Tabanou has agreed personal terms with the Welsh outfit. They believe that the deal will be finalised in the next 48 hours.
I'm quite excited about Tabanou...I reckon he'll take Taylor's shirt. The more I think about it the more I'm leaning towards Taylor leaving this summer...if Tabanou comes in I reckon he'll be off.
I thought the club said earlier in the week that Taylor is also close to signing a new deal? Win win situation whatever the outcome if we get Tab.
Yes, and I was pretty sure he would sign but... why wait until there's only a year left? The other players in that situation are Rangel, Leon (both in their 30s and guaranteed a job on the coaching staff), Jazz and Tiendalli. Last year it was Tremmel, Tate, Donnelly, Obeng and Cornell. Are Taylor and his agent waiting to see what happens?
Well if we sign Tabanou and he decides to leave I won't be concerned. He will only go to a side below us in the table.
Not officially confirmed, but looking good. http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/footbal...rt-tabanou-completes-swansea-move_226719.html
I'm stroll trying to find out if he's left wing, left midfield or left back as he is mentioned as being in all three positions. Left wing - partner for Jeff Left midfield - understudy for Ki (if Ki stays) Left back - first choice but I can't see Taylor being too happy with that. I'm delighted if true.
I think he could go for a lot less than £15 mn and we could end up losing money on the reported £8.8 mn. Fed took a while to settle and is very solid in a very good partnership but he doesn't stand out - we see his worth week in week out, the wider world doesn't. Maybe to replace him would cost £15 mn but (other than Joe) we don't get our valuation met on players. Dropping out of international contention will have hit his value quite hard - especially on the continent. Losing his place in the Argentina side could be a very big influence in what the player sees for his future & is at an age where he can be eying another World Cup. He will stand a better chance of regaining his international place if he plays in Europe with an Italian or Spanish club. The draw at Swansea will be (almost) guaranteed football, good wage and he's only been here one season. A definite 50 - 50 for me and has been since towards the end of the season.
good player who has settled in very well, we wont be interested in selling this coming season for sure. He is a key player in monks plans.
