You might not have said it. but the fact is the rule says "handball involves a deliberate act of a player making contact with the ball with his hand or arm". That wasn't handball.
Neymar gained an advantage by the ball being deflected off his hand and deceiving Buffon, but his attemp at the save was crap, rightly disallowed for me.
If any of the officials saw the ball come of his hand before going into the net, then it was the correct decision to disallow the goal. Whether it was deliberate or not.
Suarez was diving all over the place, but got pretty much every decision. It's how the officials see it. They clearly saw it as enough to (rightly) disallow the goal.
Suarez was indeed diving, but after he had been fouled. The decisions were correct, but he could have been booked for simulation. Referees are there to enforce the laws of the game, not make up their own version. Neymar's goal should have stood.
It's the analysis of football generally on the English TV I find very depressing and it's getting worse IMO as I only see snapshots nowadays It was always said that football would eat itself ... It's on it's way I see Itv have lost it next year so who has it BT or the Sky lot?
Are you on the wind up strolls? You're not allowed to score with your hand. Never in the history of the game would a goal have been allowed if the officials had seen it being scored with a hand!
You do exaggerate. Some of the analysis is very good, especially from ex players like Gary Neville and Carragher.
Juve should've had a penalty just before Barca got their second. Pogba was clearly pulled back by Alves.
Just to add some fuel to the fire, if a defender had headed the ball in the penalty area and the ball accidentally hit his arm should that be a penalty?
No wind-up, Col - maybe a little argumentative, though. The point is it wasn't deliberate and the rule (law) says it's only handball if it's deliberate. I would have let the goal stand. As Hoops Eternal says - if a defender had done it would it have been a penalty?
No it should not have. Whether deliberate or not, he put the ball in the goal with his hand, and had he not had the ball strike his hand, Buffon would clearly have saved it. I doubt that any referee in the world, knowing what happened, would have given that goal. Doesn't matter in the end though, because the ref gave Barca the rest of the decisions, which handed them the trophy. as has been said, Pogba should have had the penallty just before the second Barca goal, and Suarez was doing his usual Tom Daley impression. Had to mute the sound though. I couldn't bear to hear Andy Townsend tossing himself off over Barcelona any more...
How can you possibly be so certain that Buffon would have saved it? As for the referee favouring Barca, Vidal was very lucky to stay on the pitch long enough to be substituted. He was booked for persistent fouling and just carried on doing it.
Can't stand that twat! He's so over-fawning, thank **** ITV have not got the coverage next season (think it's BT). Even when my son is playing FIFA and I hear his voice, I want to chuck a brick at the TV!!
