I wouldnt want nasri he is overrated massively, granted he is and was arsenals best player last year, but he is not in the united class, not worth the wages of 100k plus. however sneijder is, I think we will bid for him, whether it is accepted is another matter.
If Inter are as cash strapped as I somehow have the impression they are I do think if a bid is made they will accept.
Don't even think he's Arsenal's best player. Fabregas is imo, closely followed by RVP, then Nasri. However, he is a talented player and I'm sure he'd have done well at United. But he's not coming, and was never likely to after Wenger said he wouldn't be sold to United. I do think he's a bit overrated though and goes missing too often.
He did say last year to be fair. Fabregas was nowhere near Nasri last year in terms of performances, so I can see his point.
Aye fair enough. I'd probably have given RVP the player of the year personally, simply because when Arsenal were struggling he was the one guy who stood up to be counted. He even broke the record for consecutive away games scored in in the PL. Not an Arsenal fan (obviously) but as a football fan I think it's a crying shame that RVP has so many injury problems as if he played a whole season, he would be right up there with the very best.
Schweinsteiger would be a very good signing. He can play as a holding or attacking midfielder as well as the wings.
Yeah he's quality in a number of positions. He signed a new contract with Bayern about 6 months ago though and we all know how hard it is to prise a player away from Bayern for a reasonable price.
Surprised noone has mentioned this yet. Apparently Macheda on his Twitter has said something about awaiting Sneijder coming to the USA to join up with the squad. Then the post was deleted by Kiko himself. Bear in mind that this is probably crap because I heard it on...TalkSport, but it's been around a few United forums as well. A lot of different messages being put out from the Inter camp and nothing from the United camp- which probably is an indication that something is happening.
I fail to believe any news source could have seen such a tweet and not go straight for the print screen button.
I read it as Sneijder would quite like to move, but doesn't want to burn his bridges at Inter in case the deal falls through. Maybe it also implies that he only wants to move to Utd, and so he's trying not to encourage other clubs to bid for him in case it drives the price above what Utd are willing to pay. I hope Sneijder only wanting to go to United is true. Prove all those people that claim we can no longer attract the big names anymore wrong. Hope Macheda's tweet wasn't just him hoping we sign him too. Guess we'll find out soon enough.
I don't get why we need to buy big names. As long as the player does his job effectively and well then it doesn't matter if he's Brazillian or from Timbuktu. It's a trick one to decipher. Is he just hoping that we buy him, or insinuating that Sneijder will join up with the squad in the US after signing?
News from where the Mirror . I can't believe you are actually referencing that as a source to prove some sort of point. No reliable source has yet to confirmed such "rumors". We may be interested but that does not mean he will sign. I am a Utd fan, what ever you may say won't change this fact. I am just not a rose tinted baboon.
Why are you seeking confirmation of this? Is it because you are upset. More upset than anybody else on here that this might not happen? Stop being a **** you know **** all about football.
No I am not upset, if we sign Sneidjer, I will be one of the first people to congratulate such a great move as he is a great player and one of my favorites. However, we need to get into the real world. It is very unlikely he will join and I mean very. There are reports coming out that we are reluctant to bid due to fee+ his wage demands.
And there are also reports that he has agreed personal terms. I think its you that needs to get into the real world and accept that this deal, regardless of the final outcome, is still a possibility instead of just picking information from the negative reports and disregarding the positive ones, as usual.
