Did you know that Ron Atkinson signed him for £300k in 1983 and let him go on a free in 1984 after 1 league cup appearance,because he thought Norman Whiteside was a better player.In 1987,Ron Atkinsons successor one Alex Ferguson offered Newcastle £3 million for Peter Beardsley.
As for the other question the answer is Youssef ''Yossi'' Benayoun.The third Isreali International to play for Liverpool following in the foot-steps of the late Avi Cohen RIP(who is famous for scoring at the same end for both teams in 1980 against Aston Villa which clinched the title).The other being Ronnie Rosenthal who scored 7 goals in the remaining 7 games of the 1989/1990 season.

It was Mark Lawrenson in the 1987-1988 season.
He played the 10 necessary league games to qualify for a title medal and left half-way through that season to player/manage Oxford whom got relegated.
He's also the only player to be managed by both Jack and Bobby Charlton.
