Options that come to mind for the first 11 are most obviously; Martin, Bialkowski, Holmes, Seabourne, Mills, Forte and also Doble and Reeves who always seem just on the fringe of Match day squads although they have had loan spells. Another topic would be who do you expect to see challenging them for a place in the Match day Squad youngsters like; Hoskins, Sinclair, Ward-Prowse, Shaw, Isgrove, Robinson, Stephens, Reed, Seidi or any others you want to Mention. An obvious attempt to fill the void while the Boys are in Switzerland but I Just wanted to see everyone's opinion. Personally I would like to see Martin and Bialkowski cement places in the first XI not because I don't appreciate Davis and Jaidi but just because they both have so much, as yet, unachieved potential. I would also love to see Shaw, Ward-Prowse and Stephens challenge for first team roles but I feel it is a big ask for such young players but I think Hoskins definitely deserves a place solely on his goal scoring and performances last year but saying that when the Under 21's I am lead to believe Doble was Brilliant and the statistics seem to bag except for maybe an unfortunate red card affecting one of his loan spells. Looking forward to hearing your opinions.
Doble & Reeves are in Switzerland, so look lke they're in Adkinds plans, along with Martin, Bart etc Heard rave reviews about Ward-Prowse & Shaw especially, expect to see them involved at some point, plus heard good things about Hoskins, Sinclair, Reed, Isgrove, Robinson, Stephens & Racine
Well apparently Doble, Reeves and Martin are all away in Switzerland, so maybe that's an indication of their roles for the season
Hope so, Doble and Reeves occasionally get in the match day squad but I don't think either have had a competitive appearance both did well for the U21 when they got a game lol.
Reeves has signed a 2, maybe 3 year deal recently so Adkins obviously rates him for the future, same with Ryan Doble, although he only signed a 1 year deal but the fact he's out in Switzerland is a good sign for their progress as far as im concerned
Wouldn't say I'm concerned but you can just see the competition they have Doble has to beat Lambert, Guly, Barnard et al and Reeves has to bypass Lallana, Holmes and other capable LM's such as Harding, Dickson and even Chamberlain
There's an u18 friendly against Winchester City, I'd be interested in seeing a report on that. Winchester City are poo, but it's a good chance to see the youngsters. I'd go myself, but can't on that day.
He was a LB back the Development squad seems to have turned him in to a LM I heard he's got a great cross bit poor going back.
I personally would like to see some of this youth talent playing a bit this season, if any of you went to saints day by the end practically the whole academy squad was on and they passed and moved pretty well if memory serves correctly, maybe a sign that Cortese is serious about this Barca style development of creating a whole team not just a wonderkid?
Well i hope in Ricky's case its a salad one as we have had enough of the skates banging on about him being how shall we say well built.
Maybe Lallana could do a forward 'roll', or what about Fonte doing a barrel 'roll'? Maybe the whole team could have a drum 'roll' at the start of the first match. We can't throw toilet 'rolls' on the pitch though, like they do in Italy. Just thinking as well, I wonder how many players are on the electorial 'roll' as well? Is Chamberlain old enough yet? Do you mean 'role' by the way?
