Lets hope he can settle in quickly and the player and adjust to whatever tactics/formations he has.

Very pleased it has been sorted - and relatively quickly too. Welcome to the club Quique and here's hoping your tenure is as successful as the last head coach's was!

English football seems to be very different. Some good managers abroad have simply not cut it here while others have done brilliantly. We have to hope that Quiche - sorry Quique - is one who can settle. I do believe that what is needed in the Prem is so different to the Championship that losing Jokanovich may not be quite the blow I at first feared it would be

Will he chose Lloyd Doyley to play in a game?

If so, Pub Quiz question - how many managers have chosen Lloydinhio as their best option in defence?

Will be interesting to hear what tune his name will attract for his terrace anthem!

10; Gianluca Vialli, Ray Lewington, Aidy Boothroyd, Brendan Rodgers, Malkey Mackay, Sean Dyche, Gianfranco Zola, Beppe Sannino, Billy McKinley and Slaviša Jokanović. 11 if you count Malkey Mackay's stint as caretaker separately.

Lloyd was an unused substitute in Óscar García Junyent's first game at Charlton.

Well that is all settled now, the speculation is over. Good to see that Dean Austin is staying. It was not known what his input was, but results certainly went our way after his arrival.

.... and over to the 1881.

I think this is a fantastic appointment and a real statement of intent by the Pozzo's: European football. Of course he is untried in England but, for goodness sakes, he comes with a pedigree that most coaches would give their eye-teeth for and if you'd said three years ago we'd be playing Premier League football and our manager has won a genuine European trophy you'd be packed off to the funny farm. The stability is there with the back room staff - doubtless they will have got a decent pay rise and bonus too all perfectly acceptable to them!

Looking at Sanchez' record I should think an emphasis will be placed on the cup competitions as well as establishing ourselves in the Prem. Excited? Doesn't even begin to describe it!
