I reckon this lad deserves a bit of credit. Let`s face it, with the last few naff appointments the board haven`t exactly covered themselves with glory. Seems to me he has Shorts ear, he`s giving good advice (something of a novelty) and Short is listening. There`s been no histrionics or pushing himself into the limelight, just getting on with things (apparently very effectively) behind the scenes. We may have found a real gem. Well done lad.
Don't be daft Gramps, he should sacked. He's not doing a good enough job. What with bringing in Dick and swapping Jozy for Defoe and signing our first good permanent leftback in many a year
Looking forward to seeing what he can do this summer working with a manager who is on the same page. Because as has become more and more obvious, Gus wasn't even reading the same bloody book the last two windows
This is great we have clearly got under Dick's skin. He cares but he's also canny not daft and jumping at the chance but prepared to say no if the club won't match him. I was underwhelmed when he first came and I thought he was a lunatic playing 3 up front. However he got the results with a bunch of players who I also thought were beyond help. I'm now quite excited he has signed. He clearly has a preferred system and if he can get the players he wants to play it we may see some exciting football!
The great thing is that both Lee and Dick know their jobs and know that they must work together to move our club up to the next level, where relegation-fights are a thing of the past.Good luck to them....I can't wait !!
You get the impression we might have the right balance now, and ****ing hell it's nice to be relaxed. Can't wait to see who Penis brings in, I reckon we might actually get some players that genuinely excite us a bit. I'm actually overjoyed he came back as it was starting to look like we were gonna make a rash choice.
Well if the mirror are right there won't be much excitement. It's bollocks though imo. Five Sunderland summer targets... VIRGIL VAN DIJK £10million-rated defender and long-time Sunderland target is leaving Celtic. PATRICK BAMFORD Young Chelsea striker was the Championship's player of last season on loan at Middlesbrough. SEKO FOFANA Manchester City's 20-year-old midfielder would be a loan signing. SAM BYRAM A£5m fee would be required for Leeds' England Under-20s right-back. SEBASTIAN COATES Enjoyed a successful spell on loan from Liverpool at the end of last season and could join permanently for £6m.
Watmore to come in and Fletcher go the other way for Van Dijk? iirc Bamford gave us a torrid time at the SOL. £6m seems a bit steep for Coates.
I see sense in all of those to be fair, then a CM and another loanee, club suggested 2 so likely an overseas player. Bruma maybe? We get linked every week so might as well hoy it in the mix.
If you look at the players linked so far we have been linked to most of them in the past just like the managers who were touted for the job I think the press just need something to write and have no idea. I can see us getting a couple of surprises from the continent
Do we need a rb? I thought we did but then I came through that we're going to offer Rev an extra year. We don't need three rbs. Little things like that tell me it's just poor journalism where they've just taken links from other pieces of poor journalism. I doubt young loan will feature in our top 5 either, they'll be to add depth but won't be our top targets, targets maybe, top targets no imo
There`s no shortage of lazy journos mind, that`s for sure. How`s about Van Dijk LB, PVA to LM, Rodwell to the back line?
