This whole thing is so political.

The US will need to tread carefully with Russia as this essentially will play another part in the on-going tensions which are basically part of the Cold War.

We don't need it to escalate. We all know Russia is bent, but they hold a lot of cards.

I would be surprised if either tournament was cancelled.

It would be great if we could hold one here. If not at one of the other countries that got mugged off like Australia.

I'd like to see the 2022 world cup moved from Qatar to Australia. USA had one in 1994, can't recall Australia having it before

Don't think so.

I would be semi happy.

When do we get one?! We meet all the criteria but I feel our lack of popularity generally will hurt us.

Austratlia would be a ****er for watching the games because of the time difference <laugh>

Euro 96 was a great atmosphere so I wouldn't mind seeing us host one again. Hopefully UEFA's plan for shared hosting failures miserably so that can go back to selected hosts again.

Australia, South Korea, Japan and the USA.

USA came 2nd and Korea 3rd in the original vote.

Well, they certainly shouldn't be getting it since they hosting the 2002 World Cup. USA had 1994, Australia have never had it although, I don't think Russia have either

I remember that being a fairly pants tourna too.

I must admit I'm really enjoying all this come out.

I get fairly bitter when others platantly stitch us up just because we're English.

They like to say we're racist but in actual fact they're the racists.

And they're ****ing bent!!!

Priceless... not.

2002 was the last international tournament a really enjoyed. Might have something to do with being in the pub at 10am mind <laugh>

I spent last year travelling around Australia and they are a great sporting country.

Not so much on football - but they do have other stadia which will make do.

The MCG for example held a massive baseball game recently so there is not reason why it cannot host football.

Stadiums in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane would be plenty.

I wouldn't mind it being in the USA though. I need to travel there.

Best place it could be though is here!

I remember the hysteria of '96 even though I was only like 9/10! It was all about Shearer.

The country would be fantastic - just like 2012.

We've proven we can hold fantastic events, we have the stadia, the connections, the fans and the league.

My overriding memory is Owen scoring early agaist Brazil and us losing as well as the pants Asian fans who just screamed the whole way through the match.

Drinking a beer also that early round a mates house and school letting us come in late!

Beating Argentina 1-0 from the penalty spot Beating Denmark 3-0. And Seaman's cracking effort for Ronaldinho's goal <laugh>

Brazil, Italy and France have had it twice. West Germany (1974) and Germany (2006) too.

Australia and Russia haven't hosted one.

Yeah, the bids from both countries were weird given they'd had it combined in 2002.

France, Italy, Brazil and Germany have all had in twice out of the major nations.

Ourselves or the bloody Argies are due one surely?

I have no interest in giving it to bent nations like Russia or nations purely interested in financial gain like Qatar.

Nobody really gives a monkeys in Qatar - its about money.

A nation who truly loves football should get it and its been donkeys years since we have one and we're heavily qualified.

Plus...

France have had the Euros twice, soon to be three times. Italy twice, Germany once.

We, the game inventors, have had one world cup and one euros
