No offemnce taken at all Pud - I always thought if Anya went we'd get cash and certainly couldn't see VVD being interested in us. He's the kind of player we might be in a position to get if we were to stay up for 2 or 3 seasons but not right now.
I think if Watford survive in the BPL, then they'd possibly do a Southampton and build on survival and become top 10. I'd rather watch Watford than Newcastle...
Southampton are a decent size club from a decent size city. Watford's a wee-ish place, mostly full of Muslims who have little interest in football.

He has scored 21 in 37. Better than a goal every 2 games. Most strikers would take that, especially when in such a competitive league as the Scottish Premier League.

Stokes had a similar record in his first season. Scored loads of goals for Hibs & Falkirk too. Doesn't mean he was the answer as Celtic's #1 striker.
How does that work? VVD was a step up from Wilson, who he replaced. It's not a continual regression - sometimes players you get in as replacements will be better and sometimes they'll be ****ter, and in this case, Boyata is definitely ****ter: didn't cut it at City (13 appearances in 6 years) and was utterly hopeless at Bolton on loan. We should be spending 1.5m better.
You're not actually comparing the two - Stokes is mince and always has been. He's never looked like the answer. Griffiths is a decent signing and will continue to get better. So many folk absolutely ripped Celtic signing him on here when he's turned out to be a good signing, and them's the facts bbz. Good record in his first season, has got better the more he's played and settled, and will continue to do so. Comparing him to a no mark like Stokes who is a squad player at best is stupid.
