The Who, Zeppelin, Stones and Floyd etc - all good as were Moody Blues and Genesis.
Saw the Who live at Charlton Football Stadium - fantastic, Genesis at Knebworth was great apart from the sunburn I suffered. Floyd concerts always great. Never seen the Stones live.

What about Ruby Murray? Someone who gives their name to a "night out meal" has to be worth a mention! ;)

Accompanied her in Guernsey in 1985. One hell of a singer then.

Could also lay claim to being a 'warm up act' for the Quo in the same year.

Loved the Quo - from the very early Pictures of Matchstickmen. Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt are nice guys too. Years ago Mrs L and a friend went into the Black Horse in Chorleywood and saw them there - they nodded a sort of hello but did not want to go up to them to ask for autographs etc. A little while later a couple of drinks were sent over and they raised a glass in a thanks for not hassling us gesture. Not so radical but nice.

Looking at a selection of the bands mentioned so far - Led Zep, Sabbath, Floyd, TYA, Jethro Tull, Wishbone Ash, Humble Pie etc. am I to presume that we were all 'hairies' when we were younger ? Are there any ex skins on here ? - although I wasn't one I sometimes liked the early reggae and ska as well - and really like the later more Rasta influenced music.

Some great names in music have been listed. I have seen some great bands live - Allman Bros at Knebworth, Bob Marley, Deep Purple, Quo a couple of times (not great musically but brilliant live), hundreds of bands at The City Hall in Snalbans and The Pav in 'emel...shame it was knocked down! and the old Cally Ballroom in Dumpstable - some great nights and fights with the natives! Probably the biggest disappointment was ELP and the Empire Pool...prentious pap!

I went through a few stages Cologne - I loved the old rock days in the early 70's, but still loved soul and reggae as well. Became a bit of any early punk in 1976 as well - not the media version, just the early street version with 2 rings in the same ear!
