Don't know how I feel about this. I'm glad he's gone, like everybody else. I just wonder if FIFA is so disliked and so lacking in credibility now that anybody can repair it. Certainly, if bribes have already been paid for as far ahead as 2022, nowt's going to be put right very quickly. That damage is already done. We're probably looking at a minimum of seven years before any concrete improvement becomes visible. That's one hell of a job we're asking somebody to take on.

US authorities have officially stated that Blatter is being investigated on corruption charges. Seems like the old bastard has had his collar felt by the Feds & will now squeal like a stuck pig.
The ev il old twat may be gone but there is still time to do back room deals with those he benefited over the years so that any vote within FIFA will be a farce until we have a compromise president. The Brit journalist Andrew Jennings has been following FIFA corruption for nearly twenty years now and I can thoroughly recommend his blog for some brilliant reading. I thought he was a bit of the wall with some of his stuff but it is coming into focus now so don't give the Yanks too much credit except for the swiftness of their legal system.

Hopefully the investigation will reveal something underhand that will lead to both selections being withdrawn and re-balloted as neither were good choices.
