Hopefully they have a recount on the Qatar and Russia WCs but I very much doubt it

This is what the top of FIFA looked like. It's now out of date given Blatters resignation.

No way will Qatar go ahead. The 1200 deaths of foreign labour building the infrastructure will see to that.

Hopefully both countries won't get them. Some big countries will demand a recount

I wouldn't be surprised if the sponsors have threatened to pull out, saying that it might be a bit too sudden?

Don't think it's the sponsors, The yanks managed to arrest the Secretary General (Blatter's right hand man) was arrested over South Africa 2010 or something. I get the feeling that the Yanks have something on Blatter wouldn't be suprised if he's arrested over the next few days

Agreed with you. The pauses in his statement does say a lot

Loads about to kick off especially after Blatter dismissed the $10m African letter as 'normal' things moved really fast then and it looks like a couple of last weeks 7 have coughed and dropped him in it. Womens World Cup in Canada meant he was supposed to be there along with his number 2 but his No2 jumped ship today and we know Canada has a great extradition thing with the USA.

Or it could be that this thread was the straw that broke the Splatters back <laugh> Free the Zurich 7 <cool>

That really doesn't surprise me wouldn't be surprised if somebody has made a bargain with the FBI. I think its time up for Blatter let's see how long it until he has to fight an extradition battle. My guess is Friday

Just wonder how inbred all this is,from the top to the bottom,I would guess.
So they laundered/bribed 150 m over many years, drug lords probably do that daily.
One on here called the qatar world cup way before it was announced, strange place to hold it and why?
Seems africa and asia support blatter for work fifa has done there.
Yet blatter says europe hates him.
    What a mess.

It's no surprise really they've been unaccountable for years so they've been able to do what they want. I doesn't help that the head of FIFA sits on the I.O.C so I can imagine they won't be looking in to one of their own. Who ever called Qatar probably realized how much money them countries have in the Middle East. Of course Asia and Africa have in Blatter's corner, South Africa and Qatar have bought their World Cups and now we've got the paper trail for The South Africa World Cup and it will only be time until we find the Qatar bid as well.

Qatar was obviously bent right from the off. For the past decade FIFA have been stipulating that any WC bids must have a 'legacy' element otherwise they will not be looked at or included. South Africa had a legacy of new stadiums, astro turf facilities and much more.

Qatar are building hotels that will be pulled down after the WC because they have no need for them. The new stadiums will be pulled down because they only need a couple. The immigrant workforce are more than double the numbers of the countries population and many are losing their lives. Once the WC is over everything will be dismantled because the population is only a fraction of the expected visitors for the WC - A big fat joke and remember the original bid had massive air conditioned stadiums, and now WC moved to our winter ffs.

USA is a big ally of Qatar at the moment because we need air bases to smash IS, so maybe Qatar will keep the WC for geopolitical reasons

Blatter will get his come uppence eventually, either trails will lead to him or some snitch will snitch on him, and I hope he gets life.

They should take all the bribe money and other ill gotten gains from these people and help a poorer country host a world cup, then take the corrupt for a quick tour, in chains.

Looks like blatter has been named this morning as being involved in seven instances of corruption. Looks like the house of cards is tumbling very fast. Would we be lucky enough to eventually see Harvey and Bates tied into it

Just wondering if someone had a quiet word in his lug'ole and gave him an option; sounds like a feasible possibility.

    Oohhhhh lets see.
Do we know an owner who
    A) has a history of dodgy dealings
    B) has bona fide convictions to his name
    C) isn't smart enough to cover his tracks properly.

    Oh wait a minute........
