It's a long night fella I'm sure there will be more switching. The more you bang on about it the more I'm convinced you are hiding something. You seem to like to deflect all the time.
Unless the person finding the notes hasn't stepped forward, the only way that is true is if the person the notes were left for died meaning the information only benefited the detective. Did anyone receive any notes...?
Nothing in the rules that say they can't but there is no guarantee they're telling the truth or are a townie either. I guess the detective saying something would reveal themselves tot he information recipient but it would be a daft thing to do at this stage IMO

It would also be making themselves a target although, that person could also be the hunter or vigilante and wouldn't want to get the attention. Obviously, if a regular townie then I agree. The detective staying quiet would be the main thing.
The detective could have have picked a mafia or vamp to share his notes with. In which case can the baddie can safely withhold information. The detective would have to reveal himself in order to call out the poster who didn't share. So the Detective either died last night or shared with a baddie.
I think we would have been told had the detective died. As I said above, he could have investigated someone that died so no info is available or passed the info to one of those that died therefore no info was passed on. Of course, you could be right too, the info could have gone to a baddie.
Good point. And we're definitely informed by Mito if the detective dies? Is that the same for every role?
As been previously. If not, we could kill some important roles but spend three days looking for them still
I see, on werewolves on the mag board if the Dr or Slayer died we weren't told. I think. @Albert's Chip Shop?
Going by the OP... The detective: The detective is an investigative role. He gets to investigate one person each night but is a bit dim and leaves his notes out around the place. He can select one person at each night to have is investigation told to. He will get the result and his chosen other will get the info I will be asking each day for your action. You can nominate one but not the other. He can select each person only once. The person selected will only get the info they will not know where it game from. The person could be anyone in game. (inc bad guys) ...the detective selects another player to share the info with. That's it. So then both the detective and selected player gets the info and can do with it what they please.
We weren't told about the doctor no mate. it was kept quiet I think? drank a lot of rum those nights so they all whizzed by.
Basically, if the detective got info on someone who didn't die last night, and gave it to someone else who didn't die last night and that person hasn't shared it, then they should definitely investigate that person tonight, as they're either another town role who doesn't want to put himself in the spotlight, or a mafia/vamp/SK. Whatever they are, good for the detective to know.
