    £2,150 quid for a pair of shin pads GTF. The world has gone mad. Whats wrong with a pair of Lispro from Asbestos.

    I had a pair of New Balance Brian Robson as a kid.

    White plastic and no ankle protection.

    I couldn't afford shin pads when I was a kid so I cut up pieces of cardboard and shoved them down my socks. Bloody prima donnas these days.

    And in those days, boots were boots; thick leather with a solid toe, almost like steel toe capped industrial boots. When you got a kick off them, you felt it.

    It was the exposed nails that got me - in the shins & through the bloody soles of my own boots.
