    exactly as I predicted.

    you won't answer the question.

because you know full well a player on the bench with a handful of goals in them would have decided the title in our favour.

  3. Obviously, its a ridiculous scenario that won't happen but it fits in perfectly with the discussion currently taking place here

Gerrard falling over and Rodgers pushing for goals when 3-1 up at Palace, instead of shutting up shop cost you the league lad.

    It really is that simple.

You can't possibly know that at all.
Thats like saying if Chelsea signed Ronaldo, Bale and Suarez, we'd have won the Champions League.
Mate there was nothing wrong with your attack........hahaha You mentalist!

  6. No, the reason we didn't win the league is because we weren't good enough. We were never expected to get top four, never mind win the league. Scoring those goals got us into second, it didn't cost us the league <laugh> Conceding goals didn't cost us the league either because we were never expected to keep clean sheets <laugh>

    I'm declaring victory here

refusal to answer the simple question of would one decent option on the bench have got us over the line (the answer is obviously, 100% yes) tells the story

I have answered your question, and the answer is a definite no. An extra player sitting on the bench doing nothing would certainly have not gotten you over the line.
The only line you need to get over is the long line of white powder you obviously sniffed prior to talking such bullshit.

This is the problem - you make it sound like having a better defence or a DM would have weakened the attack.

Having a good defence doesn't instantly make you a boring, defensive side.

    Bingo!!!
Just because Jose shut up shop in the last 10 games this season, that doesn't necessarily mean every manager would do so....plus, our "boring defensive" football won us the league.....your "expansive, freeflowing, lets not defend shall we" football got you 2nd.....so...

You've ignored the answers given and just continued to claim victory, you're completely deluded pal.

You would think that Liverpool scored zero goals this season.

Whilst we have been poor in attack, we have been scoring. Just not at the same rate as last season. We have been scoring 1 goal or 2 goals in most matches.

Had we had a competent defence and midfield, we would have been able to defend a 1 goal lead and take 3 points.

Would a world class striker have helped us against Palace and Stoke by scoring an additional 9 goals?

A quality defence and more importantly, a quality DM liberates the attacking players. They allow them to go and focus on attacking.

The problem with Liverpool this season is that we have a non-existent midfield, so our attacking players get drawn deeper and deeper to help defend. It's the single biggest reason why we have been so poor in attack. Personnel is the next.

you didn't give an answer Tobes, you ducked it

Bodanki at least tried with something about buying Ronaldo and Bale

It was a very simple and straightforward question - you both ran from it because you know the answer and you don't like it.

Our bench was abysmal, dire, non-existent from an attacking standpoint.

One single player (not even a top quality one, just somewhat decent) would have changed that.

    I can't believe you'd deny this.

Off the top of my head, we were 2-0 up against Leicester at home. Are you telling me we needed a quality striker to score another 2-3 goals to win the game?

We are talking about the 13/14 season Jim.
The season in which you finished 2nd and scored 101 goals.
Apparantly Redconn and Gerrez think the reason you didnt win the league that year was a lack of goals.....................

So a quality striker to replace Suarez and Sturridge, who scored you 50 goals between them last season, would have won you the title 100% guaranteed?
Seriously, why do I keep responding......must......resist......

Now I am being accused of being mafia on the mafia thread because I am on here in pure shock arguing with you instead of over there talking **** with those guys <laugh>

The same applied last season to some degree - except that we had a truly world class attack to compensate the massive issues throughout the rest of the team.

Had we had a DM instead of Gerrard, we would have won the league IMO.

Gerrard made the team of the season starting off our attacks and picking out the 4 players ahead of him.

He was one of the best players in the league last season.

We would have been a dozen+ points off the title without him.
