This one was sung to the tune of championies championies and Morgan was a Man U winger in the early seventies for you younguns Willie Morgan plays the organ and he plays it rather canny and his sister's got a blister in the middle of her f***y
There are a few on here who will remember Roker Park exploding into Blaydon Races. But in those days a 'Geordie' was born anywhere on the Northumberland and Durham coalfield. Even today, I correct anyone who calls me a 'Makem' - I will never be called that.
Sit by your goalpost, you,re going to sit by your goalpost, the wel after Neville Southall,s half time protest at Goodison

Lionel for England Martin Smith Martin Smith flying down the wing Martin Smith Martin Smith flying down the wing feared by the mags loved by the lads Martin Smith Martin Smith Martin Smith
Slightly off-topic but my favourite chant from the current crop is the Van Aanholt "Pat the Dutchie on the left hand side" one to the tune of Musical Youth. Absolutely quality. As for traditional chants, I'm too young to remember Roker, but I love The Red Flag, proper gives me goosebumps when that one's done well.
I correct anyone calling me a geordie!! I'm a mackem and proud to be so. It ensures that no one mistakes me for a mag!!!!
Makin Makin Makin We've got Chrissy Makin He always wears his colours with pride He's tougher than lead piping And tackles like a Viking But when he shoots, he always shoots wide MAKIN MAKIN When he shoots he always shoots wide. To the tune of "Rolling Rolling Rolling" Bart
Well in that case it looks like you have fallen for the Geordie Nation crap that was the brainchild of John Hall...There are thousands of Geordies who are Sunderland through and through, and the term Mackem was never really heard of before the mid 1970's..
I'm neither Mackem nor Geordie. I don't discriminate. From the outside looking it's quite funny seeing Sunderland fans lay into Geordies. All seems a bit daft and misdirected.
Don't give a **** who or when invented it for whatever stupid ****ing reason RAW!! In that case, as far as I am concerned, Hall did me a favour! It's maybe not an issue for you guys still in the north east but as an exile of sorts, I get sick of being assumed to be from Newcastle or a mag, just because of my accent, which after 30 years away, is still as strong as ever!! "Oh, you're from Newcastle, bet you miss shearer"!! No, **** off, I'm a mackem!!!!!!! Why shouldn't I be proud to be a born and bred Sunderland lad?
Me anarl. Co. Durham born, raised & bred. Never lived in Sunderland or Tyneside so I'm neither Mackem or Geordie. I know what Sandy's saying though. Gets right on my tits when people assume I'm from Newcastle. I wouldn't care if I spoke in a Bykkaa Grurve borgaa accent, lol.
I think you are missing my point..Some people, including a hell of a lot of Sunderland fans, associate being a Geordie as being a Skunk..This is an insult to the thousands of Geordies (Tynesiders) who just happen to support Sunderland..
