While we are talking IT, can anyone recommend some software (preferably free) that will identify duplicate files on my PC so I can clean it up please. Tx.

It is funny how people only talk about the good stuff they have in their music collections. I have some absolute rubbish, but I still can't throw it away. I have both albums by Principal Edward's Magic Theatre (though I bought them second hand after I heard John Peel say that championing them was the worst mistake he had made in music). The other stuff is probably too obscure for people to know but some may have heard of Krysia, Tangerine Dream, or Maria Maldour.
My collection includes the Allman Brothers Band, Stone The Crows (anyone remember them ?), Ten Years After, Crosby Stills and Nash, Santana etc. etc. magic days.
Tangerine Dream are still one of my favourite bands - I have several of their albums on vinyl and have bought them again as CDs. I might admit though that perhaps my two Gong albums are not as good as I thought they were when maybe I was on a little trip and Matching Mole .... well. (Matching mole is a corruption of the french Machine Molle - or Soft Machine - another good band of the time)
all good and Black Sabbath, Nirvana, Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band (one of whom lives near me here|) and the wonderful Velvet Underground
I hope you are all enjoying the break before the season starts. I hope Platini gets something right and pulls European teams out of 2018
Good to have you back Dave. Wouldn't it be good if EUFA staged a rival "world cup" in 2018 - open to all EUFA of course plus any other countries who want to break ranks with the Blatter Mafia
The real Nirvana I hope, not those American pretenders who came later... I have two of their earliest albums from the 60s. Liked Bonzo dog too - and Dantelion's Chariot. Christine Perfect and the Chicken Shack, Aphrodite's Child, Mr Big, Dexys Midnight Runners (whose trombonist lives three doors down from me ), Jethro Tull, Lindisfarne.....
When I were a lad the way to find out whether you would get on with someone was to discuss their music collection. I think I would have got on with you lot. Fortunately I never met a Luton fan with a similar taste in music to me. Oh and I like Nick Drake. In fact I'm rather proud to say that I bought his three real albums before he died.
I remember a friend of mine worked in a ticket agency and we went to loads of rock gigs at the albert hall.... and we basically followed family round London for a few weeks. High spots ( literally) Glastonbury 1972, IOW 70 and 71 . Newcastle under Lyme, Bath, Reading, Weeley..... OMG did I do anything else? oh yes a Stones and Pretty things all nighter at the Lyceum... plus a few gigs in Hyde Park.... How I came out of that intact is a miracle!
