I have to agree with you there Bum. I think Davies will play a part next season.

Waitaminutewaitaminute...ok...so you're suggesting that if Aluko stays for the Championship season, he should start games on the bench? That's what you're saying? Despite his form in our promotion season? That's going to be totally ignored. Ok, just so we're clear. Ok. Ok. So he isn't good enough to get into a Championship side. Ok.

He isn't a striker,he's a forward and I agree with BCC that he's best deployed behind an actual goalscoring striker (although in our promotion season he was our second highest goalscorer). Ha, that's done you.

Dawson has already stated that he wants to stay and help with immediate promotion. Can't see any suiters for Davies as he was **** in the games he did play this past season. The same unfortunately applies to Thudd the Dud.

Davies started alright, he just dropped off form and then got injured. He'd be handy to keep but if he's fully fit, he might go to one of the newly promoted sides.

I wouldn't get rid of Tom, having somebody of his ability level in the Championship is exactly what we need. We need players better than the other teams have and few are better, ability wise, than him. He just needs the get up and go that Meyler and Quinn have.

What, in the name of the Mother of Christ, have you been drinking Sterling?
I repeat, Aluko is his own worst enemy. Another Bernard Mendy gone mad!
When he gets the ball he is 'bound for glory' and stuff anyone else.
When I said his best position is on the bench it was a 'tongue-in-cheek' remark.
Aluko could be brilliant in the Championship (and could have been brilliant in the Premier League too) but someone is going to have to get in his ear and tell him he is playing with 10 other men - he is not a one man team.
P.S. Aluko will not play BEHIND anybody.

I miss Mendy, he's almost certainly the fastest man alive.

I wonder if we'll sign Gedo again. Actually, just had a look and he hasn't played for Al-Ahly this season (I know their league was suspended for a bit or something like that). They still played in the African Champions League and some sort of FA cup and he hasn't played at all.

Aluko looks best on the right wing cutting in on his left.

He did have a decent season in 2012/13 but he wasn't the best player in the league at all. That year our very own Tom Ince was one of the standout players in the division, a lot moreso than Aluko. He played as a right winger who liked to cut in on his left.

Can't remember whether Snodgrass was at Norwich by then or still at Leeds, but he was also an excellent player at Championship level, playing as a right winger he liked to cut in on his left.

Both are better players than Aluko is in his best position.

Apart from anything else, his fear of defenders isn't going to suddenly disappear because we got relegated. There's still a lot of big scary men who might bump into him at that level, so he'll be intimidated out of every game like he always is.

Brucey will no doubt use him as our main target man though.

Putting it as i see it. Aluko is ****. He is a self centred, greedy little twat who does not know how to play the team game and wants all the glory. He'd be best for us if he played in another team, coz he's not even good enough for the bench

He's not even that good!! He's truly dreadful I would argue McShane was better at going forward than Aluko. Plus he seems to get blown over ever five minutes, then spends another five minutes trying to figure out why it isn't a free kick. I would love to meet him and tell him just how bad he actually is.

So are you saying if a club, lets not be stupid here - someone like Newcastle or Sunderland - came in for him he'd say "Nope, I'm playing in the Championship"? Cos I can tell you now, he wouldnt. There's a difference between saying he wont play in the Championship and leaving if someone comes in for him.

Ross McCormack said Aluko was the best player in the division that season.

Aluko has a great deal of ball skill and is good when over the ball looking for a way through (which he never finds), but he does not get his head up and take in the game he is involved in. I recall that after his injury (was it last summer?) he applied himself to extra training in the USA and I think this was beneficial in respect to getting him fit and very sharp, but he lost the focus of being a part of a team. This is re-trainable and is exactly what we should be focussing on this summer - in short we need to rebuild his spatial awareness; do that and we have one hell of a larker - preferably behind a front two. It's certainly what I would do with him, whether he likes it or not; it would also help him see the crunch tackles coming, meaning he would spend less time on his arse.

I preferred McCormack, after all, he scored the goal that got us up.

Davies won't be here next season unless no-one comes in for him, have it on good authority Bruce wants rid of him.

Aluko was excellent in the Championship, no reason why he won't be again.

I know, I know, but he just really wasn't.

A lot more people said that Ince and Zaha were the best players in the Championship that season. Aluko barely registered in anyone else's thoughts. I remember FourFourTwo doing their annual '50 best players outside the top flight' thing and those two were joint top, with Aluko not even making the 50.

Funny that we went up and got just one player into that top 50 (Boyd at No 17).

Aluko... best player in the Championship... do me a favour ffs.... he had a decent spell, then faded into the background again, the last two years in the Premier League has shown him up to be the very average player he is. He appears to think he is far better then his performances have proven. Yes there are the occasional signs that in there somewhere does lay a player, but how many times do we see him lift his head up and see whats going on in front of him, how many chances has he laid on, how many goals has he scored. The bloke dribbles then gets tackled, falls over then whinges, no end product, personally would let him go we have snodgrass that could easily outshine him in his position.
