http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/12978371.UPDATED__Jokanovic_almost_certain_to_leave_Hornets/ Yet another different figure mentioned - although, being the Wobby, this one may be accurate. £2m per year??
Presumably the £2m included bonuses as opposed to the£1.5 "basic". Also assume Pozzos offer of an extra £50k was on the basic and they must have been structuring on high win bonuses and staying up - it is what most businessmen would do. That would then leave SJ to decide how likely he felt he was to earn win bonuses. Also guess the source "close" to SJ was his agent - not an "uninterested" party in all that. When all is said and done Pozzos and a manager must feel they are on the same side -it would be a disaster to have conflict between the two.
They both seem just so far apart. To the untrained eye, the club's offer a bit low and SJ's request far too high? A shame really but the general consensus seems to be 'in Pozzo we trust' and on we go. I just liked the way SJ wasn't afraid to ring the changes both before and during games. I wonder if the new man will be as decisive?
I don't think we have lost time. Pre-season training hasn't started, yet, and that is when we will need to have someone ready. Remember, it is not a manager we are missing, who recruits new players etc. That is done by people at the club already. The Pozzos ONLY make announcements about player recruitment when the player is officially with us, and any new player will have a contract that starts on June 1st at the earliest. I expect that ther will be a number of announcements next week (including the head coach). We will then see which rumours are correct. Having said that, on another Watford forum someone claims to have met Flores in the street in London. He had his picture taken with someone who certainly looks like Flores (but then he also looks like the guy who ran a kebab shop in the Roman Road when I lived there over 20 years ago!). Apparently in answer to the question about whether he will be the next coach he said yes but it is a secret at the moment. At least we can expect some very good kebabs next season.
Fair enough comment here: http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp..._are_wrong_for_sticking_to_their_convictions/
It is interesting though - I think many of us can find ourselves drawn into taking sides when sometimes, as appears to be the case here, there isn't actually a side to take. I hate the fact it's all played out in the media (be the details true or not) but it's the world we live in unfortunately
Poor grammar though - two mistakes in the one sentence. Sorry - ingrained habits die hard, even though this is one of my non-teaching days...
This is more like what I think the truth is but we'll never know... http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/article/165/9872028/-?
I struggle to believe SJ was seeking a £2.5m BASIC. That and bonuses and a 3 year deal were never going to be on.
Our mate Samuels having a bit of a pop in the Mail saying we should be grateful for what Slav has done and pay him whatever. Going down the line of we've only offered another 1k.. Its all hearsay of course and no-one will know what really has gone on.
