Watched el final de La Copa del Rey last evening. Even though I wanted Athletic to win, one had to admire the master class given by Barcelona in the first half. It is extraordinary how superior they were even in the low gear they employed in the 2nd half, to a Bilbao side, who are also in the Europa League next season. Apart from the game itself, there was a wonderful montage of each clubs colours at the start of the game and the booing of the Spanish National Anthem (seen by Catalans and Basques as Castillian and thus hated) by both sets of supporters. As the cameras panned the players and executives not one person one could be seen singing. Bilbao fans turned their backs to the pitch as it was being played. Del Bosque almost burst out laughing!! Throughout the game both sets of fans could be seen enjoying themselves, as if giving a two-fingered salute to the Madrid Government. At the end, Bilbao fans stayed in the stadium for a good 15/20 minutes. Very enjoyable!!

So if I have this right, Rangers stay in the Scottish Championship for a further season after being thrashed 6-1 over two legs by Motherwell. who retained their SPL status as a result. That won't go down well in Scotland. No old firm derbies again. Good, I say. It's better for football:

The Napoli 2-4 Lazio game is crazy. 2 reds(one either side), one missed pen (Napoli).

So the three Leicester City lads have had their talking to. And guess what..? They're sorry. Now there's a shock.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-32950519

Astoundingly, they didn't imagine this result in the first place. Are we supposed to say... they're only kids..? Didn't you behave like that when you were young..? I've certainly had plenty of moments in my life, but they didn't involve racist talk or videoing the result and plastering the news of it to all and sundry.

Following the full-time whistle at Fir Park, television pictures showed Lee Erwin pushing Bilel Mohsni and the Rangers defender responding with his fists and his boot.

Motherwell substitute Fraser Kerr then got involved in a tangle with Mohsni, as they grappled with each other before the players were ushered into the tunnel.

I am assuming the club will be doing a wee bit more than issuing their apology.

Pomps will like this...chap on Sky said it's a shame that all this bad publicity is diverting attention from the Women's World Cup due to start shortly...adding not all football is corrupt.

You know me well. Maybe that's why Blatter timed it for now, one last kick in the teeth for women's football after his comment about female players wearing skirts.

The women's world cup should be good. I've got two teams to support, England (not quite so full of egos on the women's side) and Nigeria, due to the super star that is Ini Umatong.

Realistically, no. It'll be Germany or USA. England will probably go out in the quarters, because apparently looking before you pass is something other teams do
